First off,don't select General Elective subjects in hurry for you have to spend a whole semester with it and score well in it,so better choose a subject of your choice

There is NO disadvantage in changing your General Elective subject if you are unable to keep up with

Yes, you can do MA in economics or MA in english. There's no compulsion of the respective subjects in your graduation. All you need to do is fill the form of different universities and get selected in their entrance examination and the GD and interview round. If you
