The most important theme in the play "Riders of the Sea" is the friction between fallacy, faith and the creation. The power of creation. the nature is such that it takes over everything, and all human efforts goes in vain in its front. One such thing is mortality.There's depiction of suffering of entire community of human, how old beliefs hold back society time and again, how superstition leads to more calamity.
