Hello,
BA hons english literature is a good choice aboard but then you will have to give language proficiency tests like TOFL or IELTS because it is necessary for you to at least know the basics of the language spoken there. TOFL and IELTS is not a big deal now a days you can easily do it or even you can improve your reading or speaking skills too. Try to search for universities based on your choice ans credentials and then see whether they take TOFL score or IELTS score. Then prepare for exams. There also may be other institutional exams as a entrance exam or something.
So collect all the necessary details. Even India also has many good university. Think carefully, Don't worry about anything and all the best.

There are many avenues to explore for a graduate in English Literature, but primarily you may look for job after your graduation or you want to go for higher studies. If you choose to go with the former options then youcan work in the field of journalism such as top publishing/media company for various roles, one of the area you can explore in writing, if there's a certain field that interests you then you can become expert in that, suppose technology interests you a great deal, you can become technical writer and work as a full-time, freelancer, part time according to your convenience. All these take time to happen, especially in the field of writing, you can start with your own blog and can also contribute to various sites, at first it's best you explore all the areas of writing in order to know what field really interest you. When it comes to MNC, it's great to know what are in-demand skills, and hone it accordingly, especially in this time and age where technology is so advanced and social media has expanded in such as large scale, these are some very good options as well. Another florishing industry is Ed-Tech Industry, you can apply for the post of faculty or content development.
In government sector, you are eligible to apply for any exam based on graduation such as UPSC, State PSCs, SSC CGL Banking Exams such as IBPS & SBI(PO/Clerk, Nabard Grade B-Officer, RBI Grade B Officer/ Assistant, Insurance Companies such as LIC, GIC, NIACL, for the post of Assistant/AAO. Similiarly, Railway too recruit for posts which you can apply.
If you want to go for higher studies, you can do so by doing master's in the same field or doing BEd which is compulsory for teaching in school. With Master's in you field, you can qualify for NET/SET if you're interested in teaching in higher education. In case you want to go for a change you can go with MBA/Law program(LLB) etc.
Dear Aspirant,
The National Eligibility Test (NET) is conducted for determining your eligibility for Assistant Professor/Junior Research Fellow for Indian Universities and Colleges. Since this is the case then you need to put your best foot forward in terms of ability and knowledge. Unless you have a flair for language and its intricacies of grammar and comprehension you may not be able to score a very high mark in the examination. While if you take management which is more about understanding of the principles and using commonsense to determine outcomes and it has nothing to do with language. Now which subject gives you more confidence?
So the demarcation is very clear and we think it will be easier for you to decide now.
Good Luck
There is no such examination process to get into DU to persue BA hons. in english. The admission is based on the cutoffs of the last examination passed that is your class 12th marks.
Dear arka,
Xavier's University , Kolkata , is modeled on Jassu Crest of the University Patron, Saint Francis Xavier's family. It has been adapted to local surroundings, suggestive of a native flavour of a University in India.
