most of the cases for research and development work companies hores mtech graduates. however if you are interested for fellowships after mtech you can give ugc net exam. through ugc net you may apply for lecturer post and junior research fellow post. many iits like iit kharagpur release

I suggest you to apply some other university also and try to find their last year question paper. Or you may download these paper from university of delhi website they also conduct this examination. So it will be similar to your required test.
