GNTU offers several UG program in the fields of Arts, Science, Commerce, Business Administration, Computer Application, Education, Pharmaceuticals, Mass Communication & Journalism and Vocational courses. Admission to the UG program is done on the basis of merit in the entrance test conducted by the university .
Eligibility Criteria for B.Sc. Admission:
- The candidates must have passed Class 12th Examination with Science Stream (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) from a recognised Board or University.
-Candidates belonging from General and OBC Category must have scored a minimum of 45% marks as aggregate and the candidates belonging from Resevered Categories (SC/ST) must have scored alteast 40% marks in Class 12th.
Syllabus of Entrance Examination for B.Sc. Courses:
-The syllabus for Entrance Examination will be the same for every B.Sc. course offered at IGNTU.
-The Question Paper will consist of 100 marks and all the questions will be Multiple Choice Questions.
-There is no negative marking for wrong answers.
-The Questions will be from the following subjects:
-Arithmetic
-Reasoning
-General Knowledge
-General English.

No you cannot appear for NEET UG because to become eligible for NEET UG one should have Physics and Biology compulsorily in his/her curriculum and you don't have Physics so you are not eligible for NEET UG.
For your reference I am mentioning down the eligibility criteria of NEET UG 2022.
To appear in NEET UG you need to satisfy some eligibility conditions :-
For 10+2 or equivalent :-
>>>>> You need to pass separately in theory as well as in practical of PCB.
>>>>> If you belongs to General/UR category then your aggregate of PCB (Theory + Practical) should be equal to or more than 50%(40% for SC/ST/OBC and 45% for PwD).
>>>>> You should be pass in English subject as well.
So if you satisfy all above conditions then you are eligible for NEET UG 2022 with respect to the criteria of marks.
Complete NEET UG ELIGIBLITY CRITERIA :-
** You must have passed 10+2 from any recognized central/state board.
** English should also be in your curriculum of class 12th and also you should have passed in it.
** You minimum age should be more that or equal to 17 years by December 31st 2022, as per the current eligibility criteria.
** Now there is no upper age limit for NEET UG.

See doing a PhD in Environment Science don't affect your career ahead, if you want to seek Assistant Professor positions in Colleges for the Department of Physics. If you are aiming for the professorship in Universities, then it may create problem regarding the expertise. Although, you have good scope to apply for the Department of Chemistry or any university where there is quite a exposure to your field.
So for colleges (UG) you will not face much of a problem but for University positions it may create some issues.
