Did I get nit seat in jee main My percentile 95 I has Ews

Sajal Trivedi 5th Mar, 2024

Hello aspirant,

The necessary percentile for admission to NIT may vary according to the candidate's category. OBC/EWS candidates need a percentile below 90, while, based on the analysis of the previous year, General category applicants typically require a percentile ranging from 95-97 in JEE Mains for NIT admission.

So yes you have good chances to get NIT with 95 percentile.

Thank you

Hope this information helps you.

I have selected "wish to apply for EWS" and "not applied" for EWS certificate in MHT CET registration form. If I fail to produce EWS certificate during admission time, will my admission be rejected or will I be treated as a general category student? will my CET result be valid in open category?

Nikita shahi 13th Aug, 2025

If you have selected Wish to apply for EWS but have not yet applied for or obtained an EWS certificate, then during the admission process you must submit the valid certificate to claim EWS benefits. If you fail to produce it by the verification stage, you will not be considered under the EWS category. Instead, your admission will be processed under the General category (Open category) if you meet the eligibility criteria. The good news is that your CET score will still be valid, but your chances for top colleges may be affected because the general category cut-offs are usually higher than the EWS cut-offs. This means you might have to aim for a higher score to compete without reservation benefits. To avoid any last-minute problems, it’s strongly advised to apply for the EWS certificate as soon as possible, because some states take a few weeks to issue it. Also, ensure that the certificate is valid for the current academic year and follows the format prescribed by the government.

Thank you, and I hope this clears your doubt.

what will be my common rank and Ews rank in jee mains 2024 at 98.13 precentile?

Rishitha 29th Feb, 2024

Hello

Based on your overall percentile your rank could be between 69769 - 78430 approximately. Although 93 percentile is good, it could be a little difficult for you to get admission in NITs or IITs. However you have second attempt, try to do better if your aim to get admitted in NIT or IIT.

what will be my expected jee main common rank and Ews rank at 98.1 precentile?

Rishitha 29th Feb, 2024

The admissions to any universities or colleges are given based on your rank. Your total rank could be between 19437 - 21850 approximately based on your overall percentile.

Although that is a very good percentile, it could be difficult to get admission in good IITs or top NITs. However you still have a second attempt of JEE to try and score better.

I had given my 1st attempt in JEE MAINS 2024 in general catagory but in 2nd attempt wanted to change my catagory to EWS. Is it possible?

Satvik 15th Oct, 2024

Hi

hope you doing well

Yes, you can change your category from General to EWS for JEE Mains 2024 Session 2, provided the correction window allows it. Here's how you can do it:

Wait for the Correction Window to Open:

  • NTA typically provides a correction window before Session 2 registration closes.
  • You can modify several details during this period, including your category.

Log in to the JEE Main Portal:

Make the Category Change:

  • In the correction section, change your category from General to EWS.
  • Ensure that the change is saved properly.

Upload EWS Certificate (If Required):

  • If the portal asks, upload a valid EWS certificate issued by the competent authority.
  • Make sure the certificate is in the correct format and is valid for the current financial year.

Pay the Fee (If Applicable):

  • There may be a small adjustment fee based on the category change (if required). Ensure payment is completed.

NOTE: Correction Windows are Final, once the correction window closes, no further changes can be made to your category and During JoSAA counseling, you will need to provide the original EWS certificate . If you don’t have it by then, your seat may be treated as General.

hope this will help you

Best Wishes.
