EWS reservation is applied across all Educational Institutions- Private, Government and Semi-Government. An EWS Certificate issued by a local authority with duly signed and attested is good and considered authentic enough. Even if it is at Tehsildar or SDO level, it is still considered good.

The EWS reservation was new so last year most of the colleges didn't have much seats or in fact no seats for students under EWS category. There might be a possibility that from this year EWS might be given a separate reservation of seats.

As far as I know there is no seat reservation for EWS in upto but there is a fee waiver scheme for EWS category students in UPTU. No tuition fee must be charged from the students who got admission through such seats. These seats are limited to maximum 5%
