What is the qualification and CAT Score Percentile required to pursue MBA/PGDM from FMS Delhi ?

Arun, FMS Delhi usually has the highest cut offs for its 200 seat intake. The selection process includes 3 stage method. They are:

Eligibility Criteria
Group Discussion and Personal Interview
Final Selection

The basic eligibility criteria remains 50% aggregate for General Category in Graduation and 45% for Reserved Categories or equivalent CGPA from any recognised University. The percentiles in CAT are considered for the further rounds. In 2018, the weightage given for various sections of CAT have been as follows:

QA: 30%

DILR: 30%

VARC: 40%

An additional 3 marks are added to the Composite score in case of women for shortlisting. This score is used only for shortlisting Candidates for Personal Interview. The weightage for Final selection is as follows:

Personal Interview: 15%

CAT score: 60%

Group Discussion: 10%

Extempore: 5%

10th marks: 5%

12th marks: 5%

An additional 3 marks of the maximum aggregate will be added to the women candidates who have attended the Interview. Now with all this process, the cut offs is an important issue to be discussed. Previously FMS used to consider overall CAT score for shortlisting. However since the past 2 years, FMS has been giving sectional preference and weightage. VARC occupies the top position with 40% weightage. A Candidate with at least 97 sectional weightage will be shortlisted at FMS. So it is important to focus more on VARC section while not leaving other sections. Higher cut offs are due to the intensity of the competition at FMS, Delhi. Their placements speak for themselves. FMS, Delhi concluded 2018 placements with an average placement package of 22.60 Lakhs for Women Candidates. Out of a batch of 223 Students, 215 participated in Placements and all of them have been placed there by leaving FMS, Delhi at the top in 100% Placement Companies. Though 133 companies participated in Hiring process, 83 companies could make the recruitment offers. For all this to materialise and be shortlosted, you will need more than 98 percentile in CAT.

What are my chances of getting a call from the top 6 IIMs, SPjain or Fms If I manage to score 99.6+ in CAT? My Past academics are as follows(X=10 cgpa, XII- 92 and Btech 82%). Im a fresher and a GEM.

Dear Aspirant,

Your academic scores are fair enough to get admission in the colleges like IIMs , SP Jain and FMS

If you managed to get 99.6 overall than there are fair chances for you to get in top IIMs , SP Jain and FMS

See it to it you clear the sectional cut off also. Along with this prepare yourself for GDPI as the selection process consists of these too.

With 10th percentage 93.1, 12th percentage 90.4, btech cgpa 6.62, what chances do i have of getting a call into top iims, fms, mdi with a CAT score.of over 99 percentile?

Considering your Academic profile and CAT score for predicting selection in top IIMs is not sufficient. The selection depends on given factors:

CAT scores
Work Experience
Gender Diversity
WAT and Interview
Academic Scores
Overall profile

And being a General Engineers Male candidate, you must score above 99.6+ percentile for increasing chances of selection in top IIMs and FMS. With good performance in Interview and considerable work experience chances increases automatically.

why does FMS shortlisted the candidates for the two times in 2020?

FMS has released a shortlist of 2750 Candidates on March 12th for an intake of 275 seats. This shortlisting was done on the basis of CAT score alone. This means 100% weightage was given to CAT score cut offs with varying sectional weightage for shortlisting the Candidates for the final selection round. So that is the first shortlist. And then the shortlisted Candidates go through Group Discussion and Personal Interview. This year Group Discussion round was dropped. And so the 275 Candidates were shortlisted on the basis of Personal Interview and that was the final shortlist. Hence 2 shortlists. Infact this is the same every year.

what about scholarship in FMS for ST. candidate? and how can we expect GI PI and EXTEMPORE round will be?

There are certain provisions through which you can avail a fee reduction being a ST category Student.

They don't have any Scholarship type system but they have a fee reduction category for SC/ST.

Coming to the second part of the question. For the final selection, your GD/PI and Extempore carries 20% weight age.

They generally selects the trending topics from recent economics activities like slump in GDP, effect of foreign remittances during covid -19 or post corona, Banking frauds, etc.

am having 8.5 GPA in 10th nd 82 percentile in inter and i am ST candidate. what are the chances of getting admission in FMS?

Hi,
FMS is known for being one of the best MBA College in India and is equivalent to IIM A and C and better than several other IIMs. To get admission in FMS you need to get an undergraduate degree from a recognised university with atleast 50% score. Next you need to clear CAT exam and since you belong to ST category, you need to score atleast 65% in the said exam.

Which is good to join FMS BHU or IIM Bodh Gaya for MBA ?

Dear Aspirant,

If you are looking for ROI then FMS BHU will be a good option with average package of 7-8 lakhs

While IIM Bodh gaya will give you a tag of passed out from IIM and the Average package is 10 lakhs

So think of it, check the reviews and then take the decision

I belong to a CW-4 Category. I have more than 80 % marks in 10th and 12th . I know I will be shortlisted for GD PI at FMS (Faculty of management studies) but what are my chances of converting the call? How much do i need to score in CAT for successful conversion?

Hello.
Generally the cutoff goes high for FMS for general category candidate, now if it is about cw category then and this cutoff vary from 5 to 40 percentile depending upon the number of cw category you belong, this is a probable idea from past year cut off analysis there may be some fluctuation also, now if you are expecting your call from FMS and you still have 80% in your 10th and 12th so you may consider your good chances if you get more and more percentile it is difficult to predict because it depends upon the number of seats available for cw category so in FMS, there are approx 10 seats available for cw category so depending upon the number of student who get high percentile plus good percentage in their 10th and 12th call chances will change, so I would suggest you to to prepare by targeting your aim to get 98 plus percentile so that it could the easy for you to see yourself on high priority under these 10 seats because among all the cw candidates only those candidate will get call who will have good academic plus percentile in CAT with total seat thought.

what is the cutoff for ST candidates for getting admission in FMS?

Hello.
In faculty of management studies, Delhi University if we go with the previous year record of CAT cut off then it was around 19.33 (composite score) for ST Candidate, but this is a probable idea from previous year record it may vary according to the number of student appeared in the exam, total number of seats available, difficulty level of the exam, etc.

Ruchi, you haven't mentioned whether you have been working for the past 4 years. Neverthless, if you look at FMS selection process, if you can get a CAT percentile of 96 and more, you should be hopeful for a chamce at FMS. The basic eligibility criteria remains 50% aggregate for General Category in Graduation and 45% for Reserved Categories or equivalent CGPA from any recognised University.
