I have 9.2 cgpa in 10th and 98.5% in 11-12 so what cat percentile i need to get into fms??[GEM]

priyaankasarkar Student Expert 27th Feb, 2020
FMS Delhi usually has the highest cut offs for its 200 seat intake. The selection process includes 3 stage method. They are:
Eligibility Criteria
Group Discussion and Personal Interview
Final Selection

The basic eligibility criteria remains 50% aggregate for General Category in Graduation and 45% for Reserved Categories or equivalent CGPA from any recognised University. The percentiles in CAT are considered for the further rounds. In 2018, the weightage given for various sections of CAT have been as follows:

QA: 30%

DILR: 30%

VARC: 40%

An additional 3 marks are added to the Composite score in case pf women for shortlisting. This score is used only for shortlisting Candidates for Personal Interview. The weightage for Final selection is as follows:

Personal Interview: 15%

CAT score: 60%

Group Discussion: 10%

Extempore: 5%

10th marks: 5%

12th marks: 5%
An additional 3 marks of the maximum aggregate will be added to the women candidates who have attended the Interview. Now with all this process, the cut offs is an important issue to be discussed. Previously FMS used to consider overall CAT score for shortlisting. However since the past 2 years, FMS has been giving sectional preference and weightage. VARC occupies the top position with 40% weightage. A Candidate with atleast 97 sectional weightage will be shortlisted at FMS. So it is important to focus more on VARC section while not leaving other sections. Higher cut offs are due to the intensity of the competition at FMS, Delhi. Their placements speak for themselves. FMS, Delhi concluded 2018 placemebts with an average placement package of 22.60 Lakhs for Women Candidates. Out of a batch of 223 Students, 215 participated in Placements and all of them have been placed there by leaving FMS, Delhi at the top in 100% Placement Companies. Though 133 companies participated in Hiring process, 83 companies could make the recruitment offers.

Hello Sir, I have 58% in 10th, 61% in 12th and 60% in B.E and 3 years of work experience, is it possible for a profile like mine to get a call from top IIMs or FMS? Please let me know, waiting eagerly to hear you.

Deepshikha Student Expert 25th Feb, 2020

Hey,

Your academic is below average and not good enough for you to get a call from institutions like IIMs.

Admission to IIMs is based on several factors like your CAT score, academic profile and extracurricular activities.

Since your academic profile is not that great,so try to score as high as 98 percentile or above in CAT. Then, there would be some chance for you to get a call from IIMs.

Hope this helps.

Good luck.

10 -9.6 CGPA 12-86% B-TECH 70% from state regional college expected CAT percentile for fms with no drop year.

Pranav Mishra 24th Feb, 2020

Hello Aspirant,

Please specify your caste for more better answer if you are talking about FMS DELHI than for a general category 99+ or in some case 99.5+ is the cutoff for an OBC candidate 95+ is a safe score and for a SC candidate 80+ is a safe score, FMS Delhi sees cat score more importantly than your profile so you have to work hard for FMS DELHI other than this they also give more impornce to RC and Verbal section.

For FMS BHU general cutoff is 83 percentile for getting a call for GD and PI in previous year.

I hope the above information is beneficial for you.

All the best.

yes girish bro!! dont worry about ur future and dont  neglet ur future thoughts. I think you should remember onething in  your whole life, i.e  fix one goal and do hard work for that goal again and again and dont  compare with others by yourself but you should improve by yourself  and  once again all the best for your future.

I have 81% in 10th & 61% in 12th & 60% in graduation(B-Tech). 0 work experience.I can eligible for IIm L,C,K,B,I.FMS? and What is the CAT %le required (C-OBC) to get into these iims?

Sampriti Gupta Student Expert 18th Jan, 2020
The top IIMs require atleast 80 percentile for the OBC candidates but considering your profile you must score minimum 85-90 percentile in order to get a call from the top IIMs and for FMS you should have a minimum of 90 percentile in CAT. You must equally focus on other factors like maintaining a good sectional cutoffs of 85-90 percentile in all the 3 sections.

If you're planning to appear for CAT in 2020 then you still have some time. Try to work on your profile like participating in national events or doing certain internships as that will increase your chances of getting a call and will also help in further career expansion.

Good Luck

if my 10th and 12th score is under 50% but my cat score is 96.87%ile can i get admission to iit kharagpur or fms delhi?

Sampriti Gupta Student Expert 15th Jan, 2020
With your CAT percentile it will be difficult to get into FMS Delhi but considering your academic scores it would be difficult to get a call from VGSOM IIT Kharagpur also because they require a minimum of 60 percent in 10th, 12th and graduation for general candidates and for others it is a minimum of 55 percent.
