i got 71percentile in cat 2018 ,obc ,can i got call from fms bhu?

Ananthu Anil 13th Jan, 2019

In BHU they don’t only consider CAT exam score but they also consider your academ result and group discussion and personal intervie score. The CAT exam has a 50% weightage, while academic result has a 20% weightage and the GD and PI has 30% weightage. Being OBC you have a reservation of seats at BHU, 27% seats are reserved.

I got 81% in 10th, 73% in 12th and 83% in B.Tech. What are my chances to get a call from IIMs,XLRI or FMS? What percentile I need to score?

Ambika Barman 11th Jan, 2019

Hey!

You have a decent profile in terms of your past academic records. So, I would suggest you score as much as possible, rather in short prepare well. As you are from non-engineer background, you have good chances of getting call from IIM-A in 98 percentile. So, prepare well and ace the top IIMs. Best wishes!

I got 60 percentile in CAT 2018. Can i get BHU FMS? any other good college based on this ercentile?

manisha.gupta 10th Jan, 2019

Based on this score the chances are less to get a call from FMS BHU, You can have the chances for the colleges Acharya Institute of Technology, Bangalore, NSHM Knowledge Campus, Kolkata, Veltech Business School, Chennai, Universal Business School, Raigad, Universal Business School, Raigad, EMPI, New Delhi etc. You can check your other best possibilities with CAT Pathfinder Tool.

Although the final round of selection process may not carry a very high weightage and a shortlist is almost a confirmation to final admission offer, a good performance in GD/WAT and PI rounds would strengthen your admission chances.

Good Luck!

hi, i have got 6.9cgpa in 10th and 51%in 12th and 79%in graduation , is their any chance to get call from top iims or FMS, orXLRI

Shaurya Sharma 9th Jan, 2019

Hello Sufiza,

Call from IIMs or FMS depends majorly on your CAT percentile while call from XLRI depends majorly on your XAT score. Though marks of 10th,12th and your graduation also matter but main criterion on which IIMs,FMS and XLRI calls you is your CAT and XAT percentile respectively. You need to get a very good CAT or XAT score in order to get admitted into one of these institutes.

Good luck!

What is the admission process for fms delhi? i heard there should be nesscary to fill the form before cat exam what is that process?

priyaankasarkar Student Expert 29th Aug, 2019
Dear Vijay, FMS Delhi usually has the highest cut offs for its 200 seat intake. The selection process includes 3 stage method. They are:

Eligibility Criteria

Group Discussion and Personal Interview

Final Selection

The basic eligibility criteria remains 50% aggregate for General Category in Graduation and 45% for Reserved Categories or equivalent CGPA from any recognised University. The percentiles in CAT are considered for the further rounds. In 2018, the weightage given for various sections of CAT have been as follows:

QA: 30%

DILR: 30%

VARC: 40%

An additional 3 marks are added to the Composite score in case of women for shortlisting. This score is used only for shortlisting Candidates for Personal Interview. The weightage for Final selection is as follows:

Personal Interview: 15%

CAT score: 60%

Group Discussion: 10%

Extempore: 5%

10th marks: 5%

12th marks: 5%

An additional 3 marks of the maximum aggregate will be added to the women candidates who have attended the Interview. Now with all this process, the cut offs is an important issue to be discussed. Previously FMS used to consider overall CAT score for shortlisting. However since the past 2 years, FMS has been giving sectional preference and weightage. VARC occupies the top position with 40% weightage. A Candidate with atleast 97 sectional weightage will be shortlisted at FMS. So it is important to focus more on VARC section while not leaving other sections.
Higher cut offs are due to the intensity of the competition at FMS, Delhi. Their placements speak for themselves. FMS, Delhi concluded 2018 placemebts with an average placement package of 22.60 Lakhs for Women Candidates. Out of a batch of 223 Students, 215 participated in Placements and all of them have been placed there by leaving FMS, Delhi at the top in 100% Placement Companies. Though 133 companies participated in Hiring process, 83 companies could make the recruitment offers.

I got a 66%ile in cat this year, Can I get an admission at welingkar mumbai or Fms bhu?

Pushpita 5th Jan, 2019
Hello Trinanjan,

FMS BHU generally takes up candidates with percentiles between 75-85 but it may vary from year to year.

And for Welingkar, the percentile is usually 80%

The chances ate slim but you might wait for a call from Athena School of Management, Mumbai and EMPI business school, Delhi

Or you may appear for another year.

Good luck!

I got 57% in 10th and 65 % in 12th, so am i eligible to get into any IIMs or FMS Delhi even if i score 99+percentile in CAT?

Anonymous 4th Jan, 2019

CAT eligibility is actually based on Graduation marks which should be 50% for General and 45% for SC/ST. 10th and 12th marks doesn't play any role in eligibilty. However, with 57 and 65 % in 10th and +2 it is quite difficult to get admission in ABC&K and FMS even if you score 99 percentile.
