Hello,
The percentage of commerce students in IIMs is 18%. The ratio was 23% in 2018,21 percent in 2019 for Commerce students.
All other colleges also have the almost same ratio. But it is true that whether you are from a commerce, science or art background at the end you'll be tested based on your skills and your performance in the entrance exam.
Hope this will help, All the best!!
Yes ofcourse it is possible. You did your graduation based on your boards marks, for the further studies i.e. masters, the marks of graduation are considered. And nonetheless, there is an entrance test for top colleges to give admission in MBA.
So, if you score well in your graduation, you can definitely get admission in colleges like IIM's and FMS.

In general, all IIMs use a two-phase decision-making procedure. The CAT score is a deciding factor in the first phase. The WAT (Written Admission Test) and PI (Personal Interview) stages are completed by the shortlisted candidates from the first phase.
For confirmations, the vast majority of IIMs place the greatest emphasis on the personal interview and the CAT result. Academic cut-offs, previous academic success, appropriate professional experience, gender diversity, and other notable criteria can all influence the ultimate decision.
Each IIM has its unique admission standards, and there has been little change in the CAT cutoff or determination technique and criteria compared to the previous year.
The minimum percentile required for IIM A is 70 percentile for SC category.
Hope this helps
You do have a great number of students having an average academic record in the above Top Management Institutes as well as at IIMs. Some even have a Poor Graduation Score, but again they have the qualities and communication skills to impress at an interview and perform brilliantly in CAT, XAT, NMAT and other Top MBA Entrance Examinations, to overweigh their Poor Past Academic Record.
I personally know one of my seniors at college, having around 80-90% in 10/12 and a 7 CGPA in Graduation, ended up with 99.91 in CAT and Cracked IIML and a couple of more Good IIMs.
Hello Aspirant ,
You can definitely get into FMS if you work hard and get good percentile in CAT. Your 10th score is good but 12th and undergrad is comparatively less , however FMS doesn't give so much weightage to past academics and work experience compared to the rest of the other B- Schools. You have to be in the NC-OBC category to get reservation. The CAT percentile that you require would be anywhere from 95 and above. Getting 97 percentile and more is much easier to convert and wouldn't have to worry so much about GD-PI compared to a person who gets 94 percentile.
Hope this helps you! Good luck!
Even if you secure 80%+ Grades in Graduation, having a somewhat low to average Academic record in 10th and 12th, assuming youre a General Category Aspirant, you require targeting none less than 99+ Percentile for fair chances of receiving Calls for Interview from some of the IIMs and Other Top Management Institutes like MDI, Old IITs, IMT G accepting admission on basis of CAT Scorecard.
At the same time you must also appear for other MBA Entrance Examinations like MAT, XAT, SNAP and NMAT, which too are gateways to some of the Good MBA Institutions of India.
