Can I do finance manager with accountant subject and not mathematics

Sharmakeshav63652_9487666 Student Expert 6th Jul, 2019

Hey!

You can choose financial management as your career in undergraduate as well as postgraduate courses. To choose financial management in undergraduate courses  , the minimum eligibility criteria is 10+2 passed with minimum 50% from a recognized board. So , if you did not pass with mathematics as one of the subjects  , it does not matter much. The thing matters is that your percentage must be more than 50% .

Hope it helps!

A bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or business administration is often the minimum education needed for financial managers. However, many employers now seek candidates with a master's degree, preferably in business administration, finance, or economics.
So you need to go for these courses.

Please Guide me on how can I do MBA ??

Sunanda Dhar Student Expert 4th Jun, 2019

If you are good with the basics then 6–7 months else 10–12 months to be on safe side.Take an diagnostic test for CAT(or solve past year paper) to know where you stand in terms of level of your Maths,English ,LR/DI .Though this has become quite repetitive in my post ,but you got to be boring ,you got to follow the routines for days & months if you wish to be successful in your CAT exam.

You can maintain excel sheet and note down you strong and weak areas .You can then dedicate like 60% of time for weak areas and remaining for strong .

As far as book is concerned - I will suggest CBSE NCERT book for Maths,English and Arihant for LR/DI .Though Arun Sharma is good for Maths ,but given the level of quant in past two year .

The best way is to draft a proper study plan and a time table and stick to it no matter what. Preparation without a study plan will only land you in difficulties. Here are some helpful tips for your preparation:-

1. Know CAT in and out: First thing First!! Know everything that you can about CAT exam. Look at the pattern, syllabus, time duration, time per question, nature of questions, nature of exam, difficulty level, examiner’s favorite topics, Objective of the exam, competition level.

If you know these things you will have a good idea of how you should start and carry your preparation. Staying abreast of these things will help you avoid doing beginner’s offense.

2. Test before preparing: Yes!! You heard it right. You need to take 1 or 2 assessment tests even before you start preparing for CAT. The purpose of these tests is to know your weaknesses. After 2 tests you will get a clear idea about the subject you need to focus on and the topics also.

You don’t need to analyze the test result very deeply but just look for the subject and the module of the subject.

For eg: When I took the test, I found I was weak at Algebra in Quants and LR and Sentence Rearrangement.

This helps you draft a perfect study plan for you.

3. Draft a Study Plan: Based on the inputs from the assessment tests, draft a perfect study plan considering your work or college or anything that you do. Give more time to the subject you are weak at and start with your biggest fear.

If you fear Geometry the most, do it in first place. It is a well known proverb

“Practice makes a man perfect”

Good luck!
