Your rank is quite good but the government seats are limited and those seats are taken by top ranked students. So as per competition level seats are vary and your category rank may play an important role here.

Congratulations for your rank. There are chances that you may get food technology but for that we have to see last year cutoff. According to 2018 cutoff, I have searched and found that there are only 2 colleges where you can apply.

You can definitely opt for food technology , but restrictions do persist in colleges and they prefer PCM students for the fact that the course requires mathematics efficieny and deals with four maths paper altogether and it would be easy to clear the exams if u had taken
