what should I do for going in IT sector after b.tech in food technology ?

nanditamurmu85 9th Jan, 2022

Hello,

For pursuing higher studies or Job in IT sector you need to study B.tech IT or equivalent course. Food Technology has no role to play in an IT sector.

And even if an FT graduate manages to get a job with IT. Theoretical and practical skills of FT will be of no relavance to the company, so it will be difficult to manage.

Food Technology itself has a good career options in its own field.

if i am pcm student will I face problem in biology subject in b.tech food technology?

Sumedha Bhattacharya 9th Jan, 2022

Dear Swara,

There might not be a huge problem if you do not have Biology in your 12th class as per the eligibility criteria to get admission in B.Tech in FT. Well, to understand food technology subject , a basic understanding of class 10 Biology is enough .. during the semester , the class will sure revise some basic concepts with you as many of your classmates may not have biology as their subject combination in 12th. But.. make sure that your chemistry intermediate knowledge is more or less good .The Food Technology course is basically based on the testing and verifying of food to be hygienic.

Food technology - which is best - IITKGP or IIT-G? I dont mind about placements and salary. please share your answers WRT other factors. thank you very much

Arhana Chakraborty 14th Feb, 2022

See Food Technology is an applied interdisciplinary field. Although it has industrial need but it have lower placements. As you aren't concerned about that, I would say IIT KGP will be a better choice for you. The institute have good faculties in this field with good research experiences. The infrastructure & the quality of education are just amazing there. IIT GUWAHATI is also good, but from the academic criterion, it don't have that much of field experts as IIT KGP. The lab infrastructure are better in IIT Guwahati but the applied field structure of curriculum are very well designed in IIT KGP. So I would recommend you to go for the IIT KGP for Food Technology.

For more information regarding IIT KGP you can visit the link below:

For more information regarding IIT G visit the link below:

I hope this helps. Wish you a very productive evening!
