I want to do PG in Anatomy, Physiology, Biochem or Forensic Medicine. Pl advise

Sreeja Siva 21st Sep, 2020

Hi,

All of them are good courses to choose in a pg level. Anatomy includes the study about gross and surface anatomy, neuroanatomy, embryology, genetics, histology, radiological anatomy, applied aspects and recent advances of the above mentioned branches of anatomy to clinical practice. Physiology deals with the u nderstanding of all aspects of general, systemic and applied p hysiology. Biochemistry deals with concepts and principles of biochemistry and cell biology, including correlations of these with cellular and molecular processes involved in health and disease and forensic medicine aims to make the student aware of medico legal aspects in various settings and about contemporary advances and developments in the field of Forensic medicine. All the courses are good. So you have to consider your interest before you choosing a subject. If you ate interested in studying about physiological aspects or cell components then go for anatomy or physiology. If you are interested in cell biology or forensic field then go for biochemistry or forensic medicine.  Consider your interest and choose one. It's all about the interest of the student. All the best.

what is the scope for taking forensic medicine pg after mbbs?

Suryashis Chakraborty 4th Feb, 2020

Forensic science happens to be the application of science to the investigation of a crime. To become a forensic pathologist, one has to complete an MD in Forensic Medicine after successfully completing his/her MBBS.

A forensic scientist can work as a crime investigator, forensic pathologist, trace evidence analyst, and expert analyst in forensic specializations.

The scope of forensic science is pretty vast. One can get jobs in various governments & private sectors. The study improves the skillset and knowledge. After completing the degree, one can open his/her own forensic practice & forensic service offices or laboratory. One can also employ himself/herself in Forensic Laboratories, Detective Offices, Banks and other Govt. and private agencies.

Hope this helps you. We wish you the best for your future endeavors!
