what is the scope of forensic odontology?

Sunanda Dhar Student Expert 23rd Sep, 2019

Forensic odontology is a well developed discipline and widely accepted in the courts in advanced countries. In India its development is slow and it has recently been recognized as a separate branch. Investigating police officers, medical officers, dental officers and judicial officers are still not properly aware of the scope and utility of forensic odontology. All these officials are needed to be properly oriented to make the full utilization of benefits of various aspects of forensic odontology

Hello

No, Giving NEET is not required to get admission in forensic sciences. Colleges and Universities conduct their own entrance exam for admission in  forensic science course.

So you need to stay updated about the entrance exam of the colleges that you are targetting for. I'm listing below a list of good colleges for forensic science in India

  • BHU - Banaras Hindu University
  • MDU - Maharshi Dayanand University
  • Karunya Institute of Technology and Sciences
  • Amity University, Gurugram
  • LPU - Lovely Professional University

to get a degree in M.Sc Forensic science, you can have a B.Sc degree in any discipline. If you want to study further and get a P.hd or a M.Phil, you need to score atleast 60% in your M.Sc Forensic Science.

Thankyou, I hope it helps, feel free to approach for further queries

Apoorva Student Expert 19th Oct, 2019

Hello dear student,

As said you want to take admission in amity Noida don't be worried it is a very safe campus with lots off rules and regulations. And it's completely safe for the girls . As the fees of the course is 60,000 per semester. And your student there is no mess facility available in this university that is you have to pay for your own food. Hostel fees do not include mess charges. Divided into two categories AC and non AC you have to pay fees for the hostel semester . I hope This was helpful

pdwords Student Expert 10th Oct, 2019

Hello,

Admission process for Bsc Forensic Science is based on merit list in Government Institute of Forensic Science in Nagpur and it is already concluded for this year. No official dates have been announced for next year, that's 2020.

This year official notification came up in the month of May while online registration started afterwards in June and admission process started thereafter. We expect similar pattern to follow in next year as well, unless there's delay otherwise.
