CID is a popular tv series and is quite a craze for many teen agers in 90's. To be like the character of Dr. Salunkhe you need to study Forensic Sciences. Now for Forensic science you need to take science in 10+2 with PCM in it. After your 12 you have to take admission in BSc Forensic Science and after that MSc Forensic science. As you do MSc you can apply for the State Forensic Labs (vacancy released by the state government). Now on qualifying the exam and interview you get to be a Forensic Scientist in State Forensic Labs and on promotions you can be part of CBI/CID and if you become specialist in your field due to really good works then you can be even upgraded to RAW/IB. So you need to study forensic science to be a forensic scientist.

Dear,
Forensic scientists use the scientific method to gather and analyze material to be used as evidence by law enforcement and in court proceedings. Forensic scientists work both in the field, where they are trained to recover potential evidence, and in the forensic laboratory, where they examine that evidence and make determinations regarding its provenance. They must always engage in research to stay up-to-date with advances in the field to produce written analyses of their findings, sometimes called Certificates of Analyses, and may be called on to testify as expert witnesses in a court of law; many also train law enforcement personnel regarding forensic evidence at crime scenes.
An entry-level Forensic Scientist with less than 1 year experience can expect to earn an average total compensation (includes tips, bonus, and overtime pay) of 400,000. An early career Forensic Scientist with 1-4 years of experience earns an average total compensation of 850,000.
Hope this helps!
