i get 48k rank in kcet 2024 can i get seat in bsc forestry if i apply to 2nd round... in karnataka only like ponampette, sirsi, shimoga??

Asmee Biswas 4th Aug, 2024

Hello there,

With a rank of 48,000 in KCET 2024, getting a seat in BSc Forestry in the second round depends on several factors, including:

1. Previous Years' Cut-off: Check the cut-off ranks for BSc Forestry in previous years to gauge the likelihood of getting a seat. This information can sometimes be found on the official KCET website or through college admissions offices.

2. Availability of Seats: Availability of seats in BSc Forestry for the second round can vary depending on how many seats were filled in the first round.

3. Category and Preferences: If you belong to a reserved category or have special preferences, this might affect your chances.

4. College Policies: Different colleges may have different policies regarding seat allocation, so check with the specific colleges offering BSc Forestry.

It's a good idea to apply for the second round and also explore alternative options or backup plans in case you don't secure a seat in your preferred course.

My rank is 68000 in kcet for agriculture can i get bsc agri / horti/forestry

kumardurgesh1802 15th Jul, 2024

Hello Prajwal,

There's a good chance you can get a seat in B.Sc. Agriculture with a rank of 68000 in KCET 2024, especially in some private colleges in Karnataka. Here's why:

  • Agriculture Seats: Compared to engineering or medical fields, Agriculture programs tend to have less competition.

  • Your Rank: With a rank of 68000, you fall within the range where many private agricultural colleges start offering seats.

Here's a breakdown of possibilities:

  • Government Colleges: Securing a seat in a top government college for Agriculture might be competitive, but there's still a chance depending on the college location and specific program (B.Sc. Agri vs. B.Sc. Horticulture vs. Forestry).

  • Private Colleges: You'll have a wider range of options in private agricultural colleges across Karnataka. Aim for colleges that historically have cutoffs in the 60,000-80,000 range.

sir please check out my question and answer me can i get a sheet in government college for Forestry ya Bsc agriculture

Radhika Goyal 15th Jul, 2024

Hy,

Admission to a government college for Forestry or B.Sc. Agriculture depends on several factors:

  1. Entrance Exam Performance: Many government colleges and universities conduct entrance exams for admission to Forestry and B.Sc. Agriculture programs. Your performance in these exams, along with your rank, will determine your eligibility for admission.

  2. Cutoff Ranks: Government colleges have cutoff ranks based on the number of seats available and the performance of candidates in the entrance exams. You need to check the previous year's cutoff ranks to gauge your chances of admission.

  3. Reservation Criteria: Government colleges often have reservation quotas for different categories (such as SC/ST/OBC). Your category status can affect the cutoff rank required for admission.

  4. Counseling Process: After the entrance exams, colleges conduct counseling sessions where seats are allocated based on merit and preferences. It's essential to participate actively in the counseling process and choose colleges wisely based on your rank.

With a score of 62 in OUAT and securing 90% in 10th and 61% in 12th, you may have a chance of securing a seat in a government college, but it depends on the cutoff and competition in that year. Government colleges typically have varying cutoffs based on the course and category. It’s advisable to check the previous year’s cutoffs and participate in the OUAT counseling process for more clarity on available seats.

kumardurgesh1802 30th Oct, 2024

Hello there,

With a KCET general ranking of 20,000 and a practical score of 156 , your eligibility for courses like Forestry, Food Technology, and Horticulture can vary depending on the specific college's cutoff for these programs. Here’s a breakdown of your prospects:

Eligibility and Admission Chances:

  1. Forestry : Generally has lower cutoffs compared to engineering courses. With your ranking, you may have a chance at some colleges, especially if they have a rural or other reservations applicable to you.

  2. Food Technology : This field is increasingly popular, and cutoffs can be competitive. However, some colleges may still accept students with your rank, particularly those with good placement records.

  3. Horticulture : Similar to Forestry, Horticulture can have more lenient cutoffs. Your rank should allow you to apply to several colleges offering this course.

    Recommendations:

  • Research College Cutoffs : Check the previous year's cutoff ranks for these courses in various colleges. This will give you a clearer picture of where you might secure a seat.

  • Counseling Process : Participate actively in the counseling process and choose these branches, keeping in mind your interests and career goals.

With your KCET ranking and practical scores, you have reasonable chances of getting into Forestry and possibly Horticulture . For Food Technology , it might depend more on the specific college's cutoff. Ensure to stay updated with counseling details and college-specific requirements.
