I am qualified MBBS and wish to study Post Graduation in Medicine from Singapore government university

Azim Musa Shaikh 22nd Oct, 2018
Yes ! Since the past many years, students who wanted to study MBBS but couldn't do so in India because of the practically inhuman competition in Indian medical entrances, or due to other reasons ('other reasons', they say. Just kidding though) have chosen Singapore as their study destination.

Singapore has a pretty strong South East Asian community, owing to the several Indians and Sri Lankans studying there.

It offers several top notch courses, which if not better, are at par with the courses offered, in the States.

The exorbitant amount of 'fees' in private colleges makes this seem like a much better option.

The course is taught in English.

The cost of living and tuition fees is less than that in the UK and the US.

Zero tolerance to racism and drugs.

It's a pretty safe country for students given its strict law enforcement.

The only downside that I can possibly see is lack of exposure to patients, well that would be everywhere except India. And homesickness.

Thanks,
Azim

Does Amity Global Institute Singapore provides any options to work in Singapore after MBA ? How much time students get after MBA ?

Azim Musa Shaikh 2nd Oct, 2018

Technically speaking, Amity Global Business School offers degrees of Amity University, Noida. Since UGC says universities cannot offer their degrees outside their territorial jurisdiction, you may end up doing a flexi mode MBA in an institute that operates in an office complex building. I have seen their campuses and they do not look like b-schools at all.

Do find out about UGC approvals if they have any, and the academic and social life. It is hardly global - even papers are marked locally so if you fall foul of any teacher or director, you will face hell.

The only positive thing is that anyone can get admission - their test is an eyewash. To increase numbers, they will admission even to people with hearing or speaking impairments. I know at least two such cases where the students faced huge difficulties and had to drop out later.

Amity Singapore is not at all worth considering MBA , if you think to work at Singapore. Admission is easy and you do not need even IELTS score for it.

Thanks,
Azim Musa Shaikh
