General Surgery
Hello there
Generally the roster for every surgeon is same as they experience the same types of situations in their daily life and maybe it can vary according to their perception.
Typically talking about the schedule for a younger surgeon is never set on a stone and everyday is very unpredictable. The whole day have a full clinic session or a surgical session and also they have to attend academic sessions.
The average General Surgeon works 50 to 60 hours per week. Depending upon the practice situation they can be called as much of time (if they are in a private solo practice) to once a week (if doing practice in large group). Also there may be surgeons who have specific days in which they perform the surgery which is scheduled earlier and the rest of the time they spent it on researching various things and by providing emergency care to the patients.
I hope it helps you!
Thank you!

Hello!
A general surgeon is the person whi specialises in surgery. On call duty of a person who completed general surgery means he or she has to be available at any time during their shift. On call duties are mainly on the basis of a short notice and it can vary from normal working hours to emergency too.
An average general surgeon has to work 50 to 60 hours in a week, after his training. This is not included in the time available for call. If the surgeon is in a private solo practice, he or she can be on call as much as all the time. If the surgeon is in a large group practice, he or she can be on call once in a week.
