Genetic Engineering
Hi,
There are different colleges are providing offering different courses like bachelors and masters degree.
1.bachelor of engineering
2.b.tech in genetic engineering
For master's degrees
1.masters of engineering in genetic engineering
2.m.tech in genetic engineering
To getting the admission in this for ug level a student must have passed 12th with science stream, from the jee exam you can go to these colleges. For masters degree you must have qualified your bachelor's degree you can go through gate exam.
There are the few colleges for genetic engineering -
1.srm university
2. IIt
3.school of life science
4.bharath university
5.kl college of engineering
6.school of engineering and technology
7.iisc
Hi Ayushman,
You can do either B.Sc in genetic engineering or B.Tech in Genetic Engineering.
Top colleges which offers various courses in genetic engineering:
When we talk about placement then there are very less job offers for Genetic engineering.A genetic engineer works with the genetic material or DNA of orgnisms to change or modify some component. Genetic Engineering graduates get the opportunity to work in medical and pharmaceutical Industries, Agriculture Industries, Research.
The average package you will get is 20k-35k per month.
Hope this will help, please feel free to ask if you have any further queries.
Thank You.
Hello Kunal
Genetic Engineering is a relatively new branch of engineering that has come up in the last decade or so. Genetic Engineering as the name suggests deals with building or modification of human genome or an organism’s genome to change its biological and chemical properties to meet desired results. In common terms, genetic engineering can be defined as a laboratory science that deals with change or modification of DNA ((Deoxy Ribo Nucleic Acid) of living organisms to advance services in healthcare, medicine and agricultural industries. The subject was initially considered part of biotechnology, but with recent developments and diversification, Genetic Engineering has emerged as its own distinct subject of study with sub-domains and streams to follow.
Scopes in genetic engineering
Greetings !!
BE or B.Tech in Genetic Engineering is a four-year program. Research, agriculture, industrial biotechnology, and medicine are some of the fields that use Genetic engineering techniques. Genetic Engineering studies the method in which traits and characteristics of an organism are transmitted through generations. Genetic Engineering graduates get the opportunity to work in medical and pharmaceutical industries, agriculture industries, research, and development to name a few. In the coming years, Genetic Engineering is having a wide scope. if you are passionate in this subject, definitely go for it. You can excel in this field. Pls note down the list of colleges :-
if any doubts, pls feel free to ask. Wish You Good Luck !
Thank You !!
Hello Harshal
List of some of the best colleges for Genetic Engineering in Maharashtra-
I Hope It Helps
Best Of Luck For The Future!
hello
we use reporter gene to check whether our gene of interest is functioning properly or not ,look for example if you are inserting your gene of interest in any organism and you want to check whether the recombinant is expressing it's trait or not you can link a reporter gene with you gene of interest if reporter gene gets expressed obviously your gene of interest would also get expressed, reporter gene can have some unique properties like fluroluminance.
I would suggest you to look for the top colleges in the world like Harvard for a fruitful genetic engineering course. In India, the scope of quality research and jobs connected to this field is quite less. Moreover, it is always and enriching experience to study abroad be it any course. Exposure to research projects, work experience, more access to better resources/faculty would surely add up as a bonus to your career ambition.
All the best.
