explain the following terms global warming

Md Qutubuddin Ansari 25th Oct, 2021

Global warming is the long-term warming of the planet’s overall temperature. Though this warming trend has been going on for a long time, its pace has significantly increased in the last hundred years due to the burning of fossil fuels. As the human population has increased, so has the volume of fossil fuels burned. Fossil fuels include coal, oil, and natural gas, and burning them causes what is known as the “greenhouse effect” in Earth’s atmosphere.

The greenhouse effect is when the Sun’s rays penetrate the atmosphere, but when that heat is reflected off the surface cannot escape back into space. Gases produced by the burning of fossil fuels prevent the heat from leaving the atmosphere. These greenhouse gasses are carbon dioxide, chlorofluorocarbons, water vapor, methane, and nitrous oxide. The excess heat in the atmosphere has caused the average global temperature to rise overtime, otherwise known as global warming.

how do trees slow the rates of global warming

Suchana Datta 12th Sep, 2021

Hi,

As tree grow , they help stop climate change by removing carbon dioxide from the air, storing carbon in the trees and soil, and releasing oxygen into the atmosphere.

When it comes to removing human-caused emissions of the greenhouse gas carbon dioxide from Earth's atmosphere, trees are a big help. Through photosynthesis, trees pull the gas out of the air to help grow their leaves, branches and roots. Forest soils can also sequester vast reservoirs of carbon.

The surplus carbon is stored in the plant, helping it to grow. When trees are cut down and burned or allowed to rot, their stored carbon is released into the air as carbon dioxide. And this is how deforestation and forest degradation contribute to global warming.

Hope this helps

explan hazardous wastes with in 50 words

may 22nd Apr, 2021
Global warming is the long-term rise in the average temperature of the Earth's climate system. It is a major aspect of climate change and has been demonstrated by direct temperature measurements and by measurements of various effects of the warming. Global warming and climate change are often used interchangeably. But, more accurately, global warming is the mainly human-caused increase in global surface temperatures and its projected continuation, while climate change includes both global warming and its effects, such as changes in precipitation.

Hope it helps you .

global warming explain this term in 50 words

Pankhuri Kumari 5th Apr, 2021
Hii!
Global warming is the rise in temperature of the Earth or the globe , as the name suggests, due to emmision of greenhouse gases which in turn are released due to burning man f fossil fuels and other kind of fuels and also emmision of certain radiations due to human activities. This includes CFC emissions, corroding the ozone layer which then traps heat and the heat keep on revolving across Earth, setting the average temperatures to rise globally.
This triggers various environmental responses such as melting of glaciers, changes in proper arrival of diffrent seasons etc.,
Hope this helps.
Good luck!

explain global warming in about 50 words

Anurag pal Student Expert 4th Oct, 2020

Hey dear, global warming is the unusually rapid increase in Earth's average surface temperature over the past century primarily due to the greenhouse gases released as people burn fossil fuels. Global warming has increased a lot in recent years, that glaciers are melting fast leading earth towards an apocolypse.

which gas causes Global warming?

Hrisheekesh Singh 20th Sep, 2020

Hi student,

Global warming is rise of temperature of Earth due to release of harmful gases. The greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide, methane and nitrous oxide are mainly responsible for increase in Earth's temperature that in turn causes global warming.

Feel free to ask doubts in the Comment Section.

I hope this information helps you.

Good Luck!

collect the information of global warming and issues and problems communicate your findings through opproprating posters

ramapriyabatchu 29th Sep, 2020

Hello Arjun,

Dear Aspirant, While coming to global warming it's issues and problems of global warming.Meanwhile we talk about Global warming first of all what is global warming??

Global warming over past 50 years, the average global temperature has increased fast rate .

n simple words the global warming, gradual heating of earth surface, ocean and atmosphere is caused by human activity  primarily burning of fossil fuels that pump co 2, methane and other green house gases into the atmosphere.

Why global warming causes ??

  • Its because when carbon dioxide CO2 and other air pollutants and greenhouse gases collect in atmosphere and absorb sunlight and solar radiation that have bounced off earths surface.

This radiation would escape into space but this pollutants, which can last for years to centuries in atmosphere, trap the heat and cause the planet to get hotter.

  • Rotation of sun  that changes the intensity of sunlight and moving closer to earth.
  • Green house gases.
  • Volcanic eruption.
  • Industrial revolution.
  • Mining.
  • Deforestation.

For further information about Problems of global warming there are many problems. Due to global warming :-

*Melting glaciers-ice is melting in both polar ice caps and mountain glaciers.

*Lakes around world  are warming rapidly.

*Animals  are changing migration patterns.

*Increase in temperatures around the world.

*Heat waves.

*Droughts.

*Heavy rainfall with floods.

*Heavy snowfall.

*Ocean acidification.

Solutions of Global warming :-

  • Reducing Gasoline-Taking public transport or carpool to work.It can help reduce  carbon dioxide and save cost as well.
  • Recycling- it can reduce garbage by reusing plastic bags, bottles etc.
  • By stopping burning of dry leaves or garbage.since it releases carbon dioxide when it is burnt with plastic .
  • By Afforestation because the earths temperature is increasing, trees will help to improve temperature on earth.

explain the terms in above 50 words (a) Ecofeminism (b) Agenda 21 (c) Global warming d) Hazardous wastes

Nimisha Gupta 1st Jun, 2020

Ecofeminism: Founded by Francois d'Eaubonne, it is the branch of feminism that concentrates on the relationship of women and nature as the basis of analysis.

Agenda 21: It was put forward in Earth Summit held at Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, 1992. It's main focus is on providing plans for sustainable development for the earth to reduce poverty and environment damage.

Global warming: The rise in temperature of a surface is called Global Warming. It is mainly due to release of harmful gases like carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases.

Hazardous Waste: The wastes that are harmful to the general public and environment are Hazardous Waste. It is very toxic and harmful for every living organism of the earth.
