What are the short term/ online courses to enhance your skills?

Professor RSS Mani 23rd Apr, 2020

Considering the lock down situation in the country, it is a very good idea to use your time constructively and world universities like Harvard, Oxford have thrown open so many of their courses free for students during the lock down. Even the IITs have done this in the current scenario. There are various portals which are giving free online courses in this lock down period. Having said that you just can't do a course because it's free.

Firstly, please decide what is your area of interest and based on that area of interest, you could think of doing some course. Let's say that you want to build up your career over period of time in Business Analytics or you want to get into Data Sciences and you are a graduate and hoping to do your MBA in IT and Analytics over a period of time then you could look for short term courses available in this domain. You can join a six weeks course in Python or a short term course in tableau. Something like that which is in your broad area of interest that you can look at.
Similarly, if your interest is in Commerce field, you can look at some applications, like Tally.
If your area of interest is Human Resource development, you can look for courses related to motivation, leadership, team building.

You can also check if you can get online courses in areas such as public speaking, confidence building, coping with stress, personality development because these are very useful to you. Ultimately its not only what you know that shapes up your career but how you present yourself, how you come across as a confident individual that will make a difference to your career.

Check out for courses, there are various courses available and make advantage of these in this current lock down period.
