PSUs mostly dont hire post graduates, they prefer undergraduates. I am assuming you are from civil background.
You can answer GATE , crack it and can get into PSUs.
Following are the PSUs which hire Civil graduates.

2. HPCL.
3. IOCL.
4. NFL.
5. NPCIL.
6. NCL.

GATE exam is conducted annually by IITs for admissions to various IITs, NITs, IIITs, GFTIs and other colleges that take admission through GATE. It is also used for recruitment by PSUs.
As for your question, you should be able to get admission in material science course in IIT
OFCOURSE A DATE WILL BE GIVEN FOR THE RESULT DECLARATION AFTER THE EXAM.
