hi,
see MSC students appear in gate exam to get chances to do PhD in reputed IITS or NITS. however PSUs hires engineering graduates based on gate score for different engineering position. sometimes ongc hires geology candidates for geologist position. as for maths point of view there is less chances in PSUs job through gate. but surely you may find position as research fellow after applying certain colleges or universities and your gate score will be an added advantage for your career.

Hello.
Cutoff of GATE exam goes on the basis of its difficulty level .
If we go with the previous year records so it looks like you do not have any chances of admission in NIT with this marks.
As per the difficulty level of 2020 exam there are good chances of less cutoff but this little variation will leave no effect ,so for more colleges you can predict colleges on the basis of your domacile state by using our gate college predictor tool from the below link.

Yes, NPTEL does provide study material for GATE preparation.Apart form that Brainstorm, ACE Engineering Academy are some good options.
Self study is also a very important aspect in GATE preparation so you must devote time self study.
You can also solve past year question and Test series is also very important.A proper plan with proper guidance can easily help you get good rank in GATE.

HI, Im from ECE department and General-EWS Caste, i expected that my GATE mark is 33.01. Will I get any NIT or IIIT or IIT?

Hello,
In cut 2019 the cut off for ECE for General category was 26.7 marks.And with the marks you have scored you may not get seat in any IITs, NITs, IIITs.You can get private colleges.But cut off changes every year it may increase or decrease slightly depending on number of seats available, difficulty of exam, previous years cut off trends.

What is the range of rank in GATE for IN stream to get good PSUs ?

Hello!!

If you are a general category student,then try to get an AIR of below 500 to secure a job in a PSU.If you are a reserved candidate,then try to secure a AIR below 1500.And also your recruitment will depend on how you are performing your final interview also.Scoring a good AIR alone will not not guarantee a job in a good PSU.So prepare well for your exam as well as for your interview.

ONGC recruitment is made on the basis of GATE score.Only candidates who qualified in GATE 2020 will be eligible to apply for the ONGC recruitment through GATE 2020 and will be shortlisted on the basis of theirGATE scores. Shortlisted candidates will be called for a personal interview before they are offered the appointment. Candidates need to score minimum 60% marks in the undergraduate engineering programmes, to be eligible to apply for the recruitment.Since you have done.sc,sorry to inform you that you will not be eligible for ONGC recruitment.

I have a backlog in one paper in 5th semester, will that hamper my application for GATE?

Hey sukumar

You will be applying for GATE in your 7th semester and will be taking the exam in your 8th semester.So , you still have time to clear the backlog even before applying. Anyway, even if you have a backlog you can still apply and give GATE. But you have to clear it before he counselling process.

if i got bellow 500 rank in gate examination. can any department offer me government jobs??

Yes,air rank below 500 indicates a great score in your GATE exam and you will be able to bag most of the government firm and navaratna company offers which includes the offers from ONGC, IOCL, and HPCL, SAIL, BSNL, DRDO. But at the same time, the no.of recruitment that an PSU makes depends on the no of vacancies they have.So hope for the best and all the best to you!!
