But I think cermics are needed by all psu for ceramic equipments. But they dont recruit every year. So check for all

You are not eligible for any of the IITs and NITs with your this score .Its better if you prepare again and apply for the next year.

Even if you are from SC category but its impossible for you to get decent NITs and IITs.

Though there is less chances for IITs and NITs you can get other IIITs and GFTIs which are taking admission through GATE score.

Apply for interdisciplinary branches such structural engineering,geotechnical,surface science ,soil mechanics and others

Every year cut off the GATE exam and colleges fluctuates depending on the number of candidates,difficulty level of the paper.

You can apply at NITs IIITs and GFTIs most probably you will get any one of them.

There are few NITs offering Metallurgy and their cut off is more than 600 for OBC.

Its really difficult for you to get seats in metallurgy .If you want to go for other interdisciplinary branch you can try for these colleges:

As you have mentioned above that you have scored 419 in the GATE examination with a 34.34 marks, in Civil branch, there is a slightly fair possibility that you would call from IIT's.

CGPA stands for Cumulative Grade Point Average. In Education system it has started way earlier to assess your Marks. See there are no different ways of Calculation of GPA for PSU's. They follow the same rule
