WHat are the criteria for IIM Ahmedabad to Accept GMAT score for admission?

Suraj Mallick 5th Jul, 2018

There are 2 stages that a candidate goes through before getting selected for IIM-Ahmedabad PGP Programme.

  • The first stage is appearing for the CAT (or GMAT) Exam conducted by the IIMs
  • On clearing the required cut-offs and the Composite Score (CS), which includes, but is not limited to, 10th, 12th and graduation marks, a candidate is called for Academic Writing Test (AWT) and Personal Interview (PI). From 2015 onwards, WAT has been replaced by Academic Writing Test (AWT)
  • Final Selection is done on the basis of FCS (Final Composite Score), which takes into account PI, AWT, and CS calculated at the previous stage

Sir mane hindi mediam se10+2 and B.A kiya hai age 28 hai kya mba ki tayari va mba kar sakta hu.sir kisan ka beta hu acche college semba karu

Akshay Kadam 2nd Apr, 2018

Suneel you can definitely do MBA from a good college but first of all to do MBA you will need to do a proper English course because you won't be able to get any good college without having a command of the English language. I know it will be too hard for you because seeing your question language and as you have mentioned that you have done your schooling from Hindi Medium you seem to be not even good enough with basic English but in order to do pursue MBA you need to have a command of English language not only to clear MBA exam but you will need it throughout next 2 years and even after that when you will start doing job.

So in short first do an English course along with the aptitude preparation for the MBA exam and then you can give the exam, score high, go through the whole procedure and you can definitely live up your dreams. It will require lots of hard work with true dedication for MBA.

Agar upar k answer samajhne m problem aaye toh btana...main aapko dusri language m samjha dunga.

If i appear for the gmat exam in this april month..when will i get admission to join mba in certain college

Akshay Kadam 1st Mar, 2018

Your GMAT score is valid for 5 years and you get your result instantly after the exam. As you will be giving your exam in April so it will be very difficult for you to join any good b-school this season because most of the b-school's application deadline has already closed and even some of them have finished with their second round. By the end of the month of March, most of the b-schools must have already taken out their admission list so you will be left as a choice with very few colleges which are not at all good enough in any way.

So, what I will recommend to you if you are going to take admission in b-school next season then instead of giving exam in April you should give it a little later in the month of Oct-Nov. Till that time you can strengthen up your preparations not only for GMAT but also for other exams like CAT, XAT, MAT, CMAT, NMAT, SNAP. These exams will open up a good opportunity for you to end up in some world class b-schools like IIMs, XLRI etc.

Sir i want prepare for gmat what should i do????

Amod Tripathi 8th Dec, 2017
The GMAT is a computer adaptive test that assesses an applicants potential by testing various parameters to determine their expertise in various areas by means of four sections in the new exam pattern:

Analytical Writing AssessmentIntegrated Reasoning SectionQuantitative SectionVerbal Section

Candidates are given three and a half hours to complete these four sections. The total score out of 800 is only for the verbal and quantitative sections. The remaining two sections receive their independent scores.

GMAC GMAT Official Guide Bundle must be bought for starting your preparations if you want to prepare on your own. Other brand books like Kaplan, Manhattan, Veritas, PowerScore, etc. can also be purchased for practice. You can also join a coaching institute for the preparations.

The only way to ace any test or exam is practice. Keep on taking tests as much as you can. Learn from every mock test, keep an error log, analyze your test, try to work on your weak areas and move in such a way that every test helps you in analyzing, reviewing and improve your performance.
