A lot of students face this kind of dilemma during the counseling phase. The most important thing to be kept in mind is going for a branch that interests you the most.

HBTU Kanpur is a good college. If you are not satisfied with the branch that you obtained you can try participating in the CSAB round depending on the rank that you have obtained.

Hi aspirant, in my opinion, with this rank, it will be difficult for you to get cse there. The cut-offs there for cse usually higher. You might be able to get other branches but cse will be difficult. There is a slim chance but if you don't have better options apply for it. You might get it.

Hi aspirant, in my opinion, a rank around yours is usually good enough to get HBTU Kanpur. The cut-offs there vary every year. So it is difficult to predict exact rank. But a rank around this should be enough. Although cse and chemical branch there usually have cutoff higher than the rest. Hope this helps. Regards.

HBTU takes admission from JEE Main rank. So for HBTU, you should try for CSAB Special round of counselling. It will begin from 25th July, where you have to pay Rs.36,500 and fill all the colleges according to your choice. Then you will be alloted a seat. It takes place through ONLINE mode. Hello Prerna Mathur, if you had missed the document verification after the seat allotment in the 2nd round of counseling. As spot round is for those who are unable to get any seat in the previous rounds of counseling. So you are not eligible for the spot round of counseling.

HBTU K is one of the best colleges for engineering in India.After IITs and few NITs HBTU K ( GFTI) is a good option to persuade your b.tech. When HBTU K wasn't university(hbti ) it was the first choice for the students coming from UPSEE so the best minds of U.P. lives here. Now it has been granted university status so obviously it's reputation around the India and it's infrastructure,it's academics will get better surely. HBTU K is a good option in every aspect(except infra ,but it getting better after university status). So if you get HBTU K don't miss it untill you get an IIT or good NIT.

Placement opportunities provided in this college are the good.Recently this year the very known company TCS has rank this college in the premium list which it usually refers to the IITS and NITs. And the minimum package given to the students from now will be 7.5. so if we talk about the placements that are pretty fine in this college beside the infrastructure. And the average goes 5 lac per annum.

 The infrastructure of this college is not much good because this college is 100 years old. But, things are changing with time. Labs are well-equipped with the latest instruments. Classrooms are huge. Quality of food is good. Hostel facilities are available for both boys and girls. Hostel rooms are huge, and the food provided there is satisfactory.

Teachers are well qualified. They all are PhD holders. Teaching quality is average.Facalty is average of this college. 

Events and the curriculum activities of this college are very rare. Surroundings are pretty well.

Dear Aspirant first of all Congratulating you on your nice performance and I would like to tell you that based on your rank in general category and ews category of jee main it would be very difficult for you to get a seat in HBTU kanpur however if you could not get a seat in normal round counselling then I would suggest you to must participate in spot round counselling conducted at the end by hbtu.

Hi Ruchi, first of all HBTI Kanpur is one of the better college in UP so it's always a great option. Now, about food technology there- the placements is not that great as compared to Plastic technology. But if you want to pursue mba especially in agribusiness (ABM) in future then it's always a little advantage to choose food technology now.
