Harcourt Butler Technical University, Kanpur
With 79 percentile your crl rank is expected to be about 200000 which might not be enough to land you up in any branch at hbtu but yes you may always try by sitting in the counselling but there are very less chances that you will get a branch in hbtu as your rank is very high if you want to try even further you can participate in spot round but here also hopes are low.
If you are not interested in food technology then don't take but yes hbtu is a good college and has brand name you can always get like minded people there who will improve your knowledge as competition there is good. You may take AMU if you get a desired branch or somewhat a decent branch. Second drop is always a risk so I won't advice you to take second drop. If you want a branch too badly then search for colleges having these branches and taking admission through management quota this might be the last option.
First of all if you focus on the institute it is in itself a brand and a very famous institute and was the to college under AKTU but now it has become a university now talking about the branches you mentioned so basically you can say these branches are more or less a specialization branch of chemical engineering which itself does not have a good scope in india so it depends on you if you want to do coding then take admission and start coding as some good companies visit HBTU but if you want to pursue your branch only as a carrier then oil and food technology may not offer vast opportunities also some companies of IT sector may not allow you sit in their interviews if you go with these branches
Hi
UPSEEE has been discontinued from year 2021. Now AKTU counselling is done on the basis of JEE Main.
HBTU takes admission on the basis of JEE Main. You need to apply for HBTU on their site. They do their own college level counselling.

Hope it helps
Hi,
This year JEE doesn't have 75% cutoff criteria due to COVID so you are eligible to get admission in NITs, IIITs or GFTIs. However, the seat allotment depends on various factors like Seats available, category of student, home state of student etc. Your profile says you belong to UP. So, your home state quota will fall under NIT Allahabad. NIT Allahabad has higher cutoff so it would be difficult for you to get that. I suggest you to go for UP State councelling.
In order to know what colleges you could get, you should use this tool: JEE Mains College Predictor
Thanks!!!
