The colleges providing good quality MBA education are plenty in Kanpur. STEP HBTI is a good college, considering the reviews of past students. The academic knowledge provided is better than many colleges and this college ranks pretty high with components such as placements, Facilities, Curriculum, and faculty .

And also As per their review they have good infrastructure and as per placement side they have an average placement packages in around 3to 5 LPA and highest package of in around 8LPA . companies like kotak mahindra bank, ITC etc came here for recruitment .

HBTI Kanpur placement has shown significiant insctease in past years.In 2020, top 26 companies like Microsoft, Reliance, Samsung, Tata motors, TCS, IBM, Optum etc participated in placement drive. The CSC students recieved most placements this year. Followed by IT, Chemical engineering, Mechanical, Electronic and electrical.Highest salary package was Rs 43 L per annum. The average salary package is RS 14L.

Hi, Since you have 1681 rank in UPSEE and you also have a category rank 420 as well so on behalf of that I can say that you can get IT for sure but you may face problem while selecting branch. And same will happen in case of HBTU as well. But if it's a matter of getting admission only so you can get in any of the IET or HBTU .

See in HBTU Kanpur counselling your CRL rank will be considered not your category rank. But yes note that there will be category relaxation as provided in all educational institutions means the cut-offs for reservation categories will be lower as compare to that of General category.

I will suggest you to deal with the course seriously and aim atleast a CGPA of 8.5 every semester.

Secondly you should start learning and cultivating interest in new technologies like IoT, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence as well as gain skills like Software and Web Development. Both your ranks are important but if you're a SC candidate student then it is more beneficial for you.

For HBTI Kanpur or any college, the chances to get admission is easier with your category rank because the cut-off is lower for SC category students as compared to the general category student.

Therefore, you can get admission in even if you have a high CRL, so if you have the SC category then you should definitely use it.
