if code selection is wrong in neet, will candidature be cancelled

ADITYA KUMAR Student Expert 8th Aug, 2021

Hi

No, wrong code cannot be the reason for application form rejection.

One important thing to note down is that your code h as nothing to do with your eligibility. What all matters is your class 12th qualification i. e to be eligible you must have passed 12th board examination with physics, chemistry ,biology/biotechnology and English and must have got at least  50  % in aggregate of PCB  i.e Physics, Chemistry and Biology /biotechnology in 12th examination  if belongs to general category , or   at least  40%  in aggregate of PCB if belongs to  Obc/ Sc /st category.

The qualification code during form filling is just to know your current status:-

* whether you are 12th appearing

*already passed

*type of board i. e 10+2/higher /senior secondary/ Indian School Certificate Examination or intermediate / pre- degree examination

* if you are doing any course is it  bsc with PCB or any other

*or after 12th you have even passed your bsc.

*have studied from a foreign board.

Anyway,

If you have selected wrong code, you should correct it using correction window

Here's a short brief of Neet codes :-

--------) Code 1 :- code 1 is for class 12th board 2021  examination appearing students with physics, chemistry, biology and English or have have already appeared but results are awaited i. e have not been declared.

--------) Code 2 :- code 2 is for all those who have passed their 10+2/higher /senior secondary/ Indian School Certificate Examination with physics, chemistry, biology/biotechnology and English

--------) Code 3 :- code 3 says it is for those passed their intermediate / pre- degree examination  with physics, chemistry, biology/biotechnology and English ,your physics, chemistry and biology/biotechnology should also contain practical exam.

--------) Code 4 :- pre - medical degree with Physics, chemistry and biology/biotechnology after passing hsc i. e 10+2 or puc or equivalent.

--------) Code 5 :- code 5 is for all those who have passed  1 st year graduation with all the three of  Physics, chemistry and biology/biotechnology

--------) Code 6 :- code 6 is for all those students who have passed  BSc  with at least any two of following subjects :-

>>>>Physics,

>>>>chemistry ,

>>>>biology/biotechnology

--------) Code 7 :- code 7 is for those who have passed their examination from foreign board which is equivalent of Indian 10+2 board.

I got 44 general rank in msc. Chemistry pondicherry university and is yet not selected in the 2nd counselling. There are total 52 seats

Shoaib Akhtar 11th Jul, 2019

hey mahasina

i doesnot know about pondicharry universitie's counselling process  but have a experience of counselling procedures . first check out if your name was in the first round but you visit on the second counselling.

also check whether you are satisfying other eligibility criterias also .

check out also  whether you have all the necessary documents with you .or there can be seats for special categories but chances are less for it .

this is very strange case as you scored very good .complaint onm the related authorities and ask them the reason for it .

also please repost this question as anyone from that university can answer you in more details.
