No it's not compulsory to study History in 10+2 in order to pursue a bachelor's degree in it, there might be some percentage deduction in a few colleges but minor. Otherwise, if you have cleared 10+2 you are very much eligible to pursue BA History Honours.

let me clear your doubt .it is not necessary to study history in 10+2 in order yo persue ba honours du.

the basic eligiblity criteria to get admissionis that  if you have cleared 10+2 you are very much eligible to pursue BA History Honours.

As per your requirement, i would say that as mentioned above your query, you want to apply for ba hons for ba or history or political science so merit criteria for selection is different for different collegr selection process

Some collegr reduce the marks obtained in hs as chance
