PWD mental illness OCD 40% if eligible for reservation in NIT &IIT then what about medical fitness certificate at Time of admission. in medical fitness certificate clearly mentioned that candidate not have mental illness history. Itviolets the Right of a person with disability act.

Prachi Kumari 6th Aug, 2025

Hello,

Yes, you are right. As per the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (RPwD) Act, 2016 (https://www.indiacode.nic.in/bitstream/123456789/15939/1/the_rights_of_persons_with_disabilities_act%2C_2016.pdf) , a person with benchmark disability (40% or more) including mental illness like OCD is eligible for reservation in government institutions like NITs and IITs .

Now, regarding the medical fitness certificate :

  • If the format says the candidate must not have any mental illness, then it goes against the RPwD Act.

  • The Act clearly says that a person with mental illness (like OCD) cannot be denied admission just because of their disability.

  • So, if you have 40% OCD disability and are otherwise medically fit to pursue the course, you should not be denied admission .

  • You can inform the institute about the RPwD Act and your rights under it.

If needed, you can also request a revised medical fitness format that is inclusive of disabilities.

Hope it helps !

Hello,

To help you better, it would be good to know the name of the university or college you are asking about.

CUET UG scores are accepted by many universities, and each has different cut-offs for courses like BA (Hons) Sociology, BA (Law and Politics), and BA (Hons) History.

With a score of 589 , your chances depend on:

  • The university you’ve applied to

  • The cut-off scores for each course last year

  • Your category (General/OBC/SC/ST, etc.)

Please mention the university name and category , so we help you better.

Hope it helps !

Hi Vedica,

With 589 marks, it is hard to get a BA (Law and Political Science), a BA (Hons) in Sociology, and a BA (Hons) in History in Tier 1 colleges of Delhi University's north campus and Tier 2 colleges of Delhi University. But you can expect admission to Tier 3 colleges.

You can also apply to universities, like
Banaras Hindu University (BHU)
Jamia Millia Islamia, Delhi
Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), Delhi
Allahabad University

M.a. history first year me kitne sit hai

Nikita shahi 19th Jul, 2025
Hello,
The number of seats available for the MA History first-year course depends on the specific university or college you’re applying to. Most central and state universities in India have different intake it's based on their department strength, and faculty availability. Like Delhi University colleges like Miranda House may offer around 20 to 30 seats for MA History, whereas state universities such as Gauhati University may have about 60 to 70 seats in the History department. If you already have a college in mind, the best way to get exact information is to check their official website or look through their admission brochure. They usually mention the seat availability and other important details there.
Thank you

I am attending ncet counselling through csas portal for itep couse ba bed, i have obc acknowledgement slip only which i got while applying for the certificate , my certificate is still under process and i also dont have ncl certificate. Now what should i do.Will i get a seat if i attend counselling under general category. My scores in percentile are Hindi-90.40 English-67.37 Geography-91.59 Sociology-87.46 History-86.19 General test-83.93 Teaching amplitude-97.62 Please help me out....

Bipasha 17th Jul, 2025

Since your OBC and NCL certificates are not ready, you will likely be treated as a General category candidate during NCET counselling. Your scores are very strong, especially in Geography, Hindi, and Teaching Aptitude, so yes, you do stand a good chance under the General category as well. Keep all documentation ready and also mention your acknowledgment slip during counselling.

MA history se krne ke liye pg college morena m seat khali h kya

sadafreen356 16th Jul, 2025

In order to determine if seats are available for MA History at a PG College in Morena, you would need to contact the specific college directly or check their official website.

Admission announcements: Colleges typically make announcements regarding admissions for various programs on their official websites and sometimes in local newspapers.

Application process: These announcements will often include details about the application process, including how to obtain the application form (either online or from the admission office), the deadline for submission, and the documents required.

Merit list and counselling: After the application period, a merit list is usually prepared based on the marks obtained in the qualifying examinations (typically a bachelor's degree with a minimum of 45-50% marks). Shortlisted candidates are then invited for counselling where they can choose their preferred courses based on merit rank and seat availability.

Good luck!!
