For getting admission to any IHM, you need to appear for a joint entrance exam conducted by National Council of Hotel Management and Catering Technology (NCHMCT). As per its eligibility criteria, candidates must have passed 10+2 system of senior secondary examination or its equivalent with English as one of the subjects. Passing English as a subject of study (core/elective/functional) in the qualifying examination is mandatory.
So, if you have not studied English in 10+2, then you will not be allowed to appear for the entrance exam.
