Are the EVs marks considered in the percentage of HSC 12 ?

Mayank Chowdhary 8th Jul, 2020

No EVS is taken to be as the Grade subject. Just the grade comes out in the report card. Its of 50 marks and grade is granted for the same. You will have your other 6 main subjects only for calculating your percentage scored. They will be Physics, Chemistry, Maths, Biology, English, 2nd Language (Note: Instead of Bio, you might have electronics, cs or some other subjects as well)

Thank you.

I am in 12 th hsc board. I want to pursue either BMM or research in Life science. I want to drop Physics in 12 th. Is it possible?? if possible then what is the procedure.

Disha Arora 8th Jul, 2020

Dear Aspirant,

You have clearly stated that you are in the 12th standard and so your subjects in the 12th, if the school were to allow it would only allow in your 11th.

Secondly you are talking to two totally diverse career routes, while one is talking of Mass Media the other is about Life Sciences which require you to study Physics.

We suggest you continue your studies in earnest and the confusion is about your career choice. One of the most difficult choices you need to make is a career choice and unfortunately our schools are not equipped to find out what each student is really good at and how to guide them. So we adopt the safest method which is, choosing professions that give the students a chance at success in life.  The better way is to find out what you really like to do or talent and then hunt for the courses that help build on this talent and excel in it. Here are some tips to find out:

  • Do you have any particular talent that can become a profession?

  • What are you really passionate about or really like to do?

  • Are you willing to work hard to pursue your dreams?

  • If you are unable to answer the above with clarity then what you can do is find out your strengths by doing the Myers Briggs Personality Test.  It can be done at a Career Counseling Centers.

Once you find out your strengths than choose a career that really suits. This will be a better way to solving this confusion.

Good Luck

sir i have scored 62% in my hsc board in science stream and i applied for bsc.it but now i want to go in arts so what is the procedure now

Samarth Jain 12th Aug, 2020

You just have to leave your current college and get the admission cancelled. You wont get a fee refund but they will cancel your admission and return your documents.

Then you can go to any other college of your choice for BA and then get admission there. It is a fairly easy procedure, you wont face any problem in this.

All the Best!

I had given maths hsc paper this year as an isolated student so how many grace Marks will get?

priyaankasarkar Student Expert 2nd Jul, 2020

There are 2 things to this. Let's say if you give your Board exams and then you are short of few marks for being considered "PASS" in any subject, then yes Grace Marks are allotted. At times it is also done during the process of revaluation. But now that you have written Mathematics as an isolated or an additional subject, it totally depends on the decision of the invigilator. He/she might add grace marks or might not. So we cannot answer this with certainty. The call is taken on a case to case basis.
