Based on ranking obtained in ICAR examination, students are allocated to various agricultural universities. If you are from Tamil Nadu, you will be allotted to another state agricultural university depending on your ranking in the common entrance test conducted by ICAR.

For BSc Agriculture/Horticulture it is not necessary that you appear for ICAR. However it is advisable that you do, as the competition is high and having a good score on the entrance exam could increase your chances. Most if not all top colleges that offer BSc agriculture/horticulture are ICAR Accredited. The top colleges are

The release of ICAR application form has been delayed due to covid-19 pandemic , but yes we may expect its release this month in June 2021. So, for application form release you need to keep an eye on its official website i. e icar.nta.nic.in or alternately follow us for updates at
Once, the application form gets released you will be able to fill it in online mode and for that you need to go through given below steps i. e
* visit the official website i. e icar.nta.nic.in , then do the registration with the help of your email ID and mobile number
*then fill the form, you need to fill your personal details, your academic details, your address both permanent and residential etc
* and after that you need to go for uploading your documents i.e you will have to upload your scanned photograph and
* then pay the application fee
*and finally you should take the printout of confirmation page
Till the application form gets released you should continue your ICAR preparation, follow a timetable to avoid wastage of time , do chapterwise revision and then go through previous year question papers and mock test papers.

It is not possible to give ICAR - JRF exam after completing UG from non ICAR Recognized University. Non accredited students are not eligible for ICAR JFR or SRF examination. The students from recognised or ICAR accredited University or colleges only eligible for the exam.
