Sir I am a SC-PWD candidate I have scored 39.6393106/100 percentile in JEE MAINS 2020 and I have scored 338/600 in TN 12th Board exam then IIFPT Thanjavur is eligible for me ?

Vaishak V Prabhu 19th Jul, 2020

Chandru, since the passing percentage of JEE Mains 2020 is 75% (65% for SC/ST/PWD candidates) and only the candidates who passed JEE Mains 2020 is eligible for admission in IIFPT Thanjavur, there is a less chance of eligibility of merit seat in IIFPT Thanjavur.

Sir I am a SC-PWD candidate I have scored 39.6393106 percentile in JEE MAINS and I have scored 350 marks in TN board exam Then IIFPT THANJAVUR Is eligible for me ?

Sonali Sahu Student Expert 23rd Jun, 2020

Hello,

Eligibility criteria for IIFPT:-

  1. Candidate must have qualified JEE mains
  2. Candidate must have secured 55% in 12th for general category, 50% for OBC and pass percentage for SC/ST/PwD.

so as you mentioned your Board exam score, you have passed 12th which indicated you are eligible for the institute. Now all it depends on your JEE mains rank for selection.

Your percentile is very less but you have reservation category which may push your general rank ahead with a great factor which will be your Category Rank.  So, you have chance to get an admission into IIFPT.

you can't opt for top demanded branch like CSE, ECE. You have to choose non-technical and core branch as they will be high cutoff rank range which might get satisfied by your categorical rank.

can i get a nit seat for 80 percentile for food engineering can i get seat in iifpt with 80 percentile .is nit better for food engineering or iifpt .will iifpt consider 2nd mains .will the fee get reduced with having 97 % in inter board and 80 % in paper 1 mains 202

Afifa 10th Jul, 2020

Hi,

Percentiles are very misleading if not analysed properly. 80 percentiles converts to a rank of about 1.72 lakh. Your actual marks might probably be around 70– 80 . At such marks and ranks, you won't get any NITs .

With such score you have some chances to get seat in iifpt with food engineering .

It's always preferred to pursue in IIFPT as you will get the best research exposure as I explained early, IIFPT is the best institute for Food Processing Engineering and Food Science and Technology.

NIT's and IIFPT's does not take board examination marks , they consider 80% of JEE Mains score and 20% of board examination  in intermediate . so , fee wil be based on your mains score .

So , better luck for the next mains examination, hope for the best result
