see most of the candidates in iits who are pursuing msc courses opt for phd or research fellowship or go for lecturer position in reputed college, as for your 1 year gap, i does not matter since mncs company permit 1 year gap between educations. now comig to placement

well inorder to get into IIT like chennai ,bombaby and kharagpur to pursue aerospace engineering you need to get more than 50% of marks out of the maximum marks where you can get a rank close to 2 to 3k and this will surely get you into IIT's
