To get an admission in any IIT you need to score really good in the JEE advance exam. But to give JEE advance, you need to qualify JEE mains first.
so it is a 2 step process:
one is clearing the mains
two is clearing the advance.

In fact for getting admission in nits you need to have an excellent rank in the jee advanced examination which can be only written after qualifying the jee mains examination. you need to have a strong base of the syllabus and have a good knowledge about the topics.

According to the previous year closing ranks for UCEED it is not possible to get admission in IIT Bombay or IIT Guhawati with this rank.IIT Bombay and IIT Guhawati requires higher ranks for admission,probabily less than 30 to be safe.For a better understanding of the opening and closing ranks

You are a little confused brother regarding these terms. IIT is not something that you choose to do but its a college or an instituition from which students do their BTECH or MTECH courses. For reaching there, you need to go through JEE MAINS and then JEE ADVANCE entrance examinations.
