Is iift consider your past academics record

Paramveer Chauhan 1st Oct, 2020
  • Hey,   acccording to my opinion IIFT does not consider your past academics record . iift consider your good percentile WAT,PI and GD scores .if you are clear sectional cutoff and over all cutoff then you are eligible for shortlisted candidates .i think IIFT DELHI AND KOLKATA ARE THE GOOD CAMPUS . I THINK YOU SHOULD SCORES GOOD PERCENTILE THEN ACADEMIC RECORD DOES NOT MATTER FOR YOU   FIRST YOU SHOULD GIVE TOTAL FOCUS TOWARD ENTRANCE EXAM.....

3.5 months are enough to crack CAT and IIFT exams ? Can anyone suggest me the study plan ? I am targetting maximum 97% in CAT and 145 marks in IIFT.

Firdouse 16th Aug, 2020

Hello Aspirant

  • Sectional Division of Overall Preparation

  • Know your strengths along with weaknesses

  • Accept the importance of previous year question papers

  • Time management

  • Coaching or self-preparation

  • Mock test

If you are preparing for CAT exam on a serious note, there won't be any problem preparing for IIFT too, provided you know the correct strategy for it! only the strategy of how you should play in the required format changes. So is the case with IIFT and other similar entrance exams apart from the CAT.

Firstly, from this year onwards, IIFT is conducted by NTA, so for the first time this year, IIFT will be conducted online just like any other MBA entrance exams! So there are two pros mainly I can think of -

  1. We don't have to spend our time circling the answers.
  2. We don't have to separately get accustomed to the paper based format from now.

This exam mainly consists of six sections -

  1. Reading Comprehension
  2. Verbal Ability
  3. Data Interpretation
  4. Logical Reasoning
  5. Quantitative Ability
  6. GK

How many students who converted initially to Kolkata, IIFT could convert finally to Delhi in 2019?

Mishal gupta 9th Jul, 2020

Hi bs rao,

Though the CAT score is important, there are other relative factors which will finally decide your conversion. At this stage what you have in your hand is only one thing: “the best impression you can leave on the interview panel”. Be smart and intelligent in your answers so that they just cannot deny you the admission!!

IIFT exam score has got significant weightage in determining the final convert list. However, your performance in WAT-GD-PI plays an important role too. Usually, GWPI has 30–40% weightage, including points for diversity (academic/ gender).

Having said that, a 99 percentiler does have an edge over a 95 percentiler but GWPI can be a game change

thank you

Out of MAT, CMAT, SNAP, XAT and IIFT, which is the exam whose result is accepted by more B-Schools and which of them should I prepare for, apart from CAT ?

Ipshita Das 6th Jul, 2020

Dear Aspirant.

For a Bschool CAT , MAT and CMAT scores are more acceptable by B-school.

If you have a specialisation choosen already than search for colleges those are best with the placement too.

Thanks and regards

Is there any specific format of nc obc certificate for iift like iim have their specific format?

Ketaki Dhotre Student Expert 5th Jun, 2020

Dear,

You can upload your NC OBC certificate for the IIFT that was issued by the state government. But the caste name must be letter by letter the exact same that is required. Also, if you are classified as OBC by state but not by the central government then you are not eligible for reservation, as IIFT is run by the central government’s Ministry of Trade and Commerce. You can also self attest the copy of the certificate.

Hope this helps!
