what is the percentage required in CAt to get FMS Delhi when i have a 10th. 84% and 12th 73 %. Graduation 76%.? if not which institute will i get based on my percentage?

Yash 30th Oct, 2024

There is no fixed CAT percentile to get admission to the MBA programme offered at the Faculty of Management Studies, University of Delhi . The institute assigns different weightages to the scores of different sections of the CAT for the purpose of shortlisting candidates for the Interview process and for the final selection to encourage diversity across various disciplines.

A weighted score is computed by FMS Delhi giving weightages of 40%, 30%, and 30% to the scores of VARC, DILR and QA sections respectively. An additional 5 marks shall be added to the weighted score in case of women candidates for the purpose PI shortlist. Following criteria is used for the final selection:

  • Weighted CAT score: 50%
  • Marks obtained in Class 10: 10% (60% and above but less than 75%: 5%, and 75% and above: 10%)
  • Marks obtained in Class 12: 10% (60% and above but less than 75%: 5%, and 75% and above: 10%)
  • Discussion on Statement of Purpose: 10%
  • Extempore: 5%
  • Personal Interview: 15%

Additional 5 marks for women candidates who appear for the PI.

Even a 99 percentile in the CAT will not give you a guarantee to get a shortlist for the GDPI process. But, if you belong to the reserved category, then you might get an Interview call at a lower percentile. Your final selection to FMS Delhi will depend upon a number of factors apart from your performance in the CAT.

Your Class 10, Class 12 and Graduation percentage does not help you directly to get admission to any business school. Only some weightage is given to them while selecting candidates for further admission process or final selection. To get admission in any of the top college you must appear for the management aptitude test and must perform well during WATPI/ GDPI process.

shivamtrivedi0005 17th Dec, 2023

Hii There,

Many MBA colleges in India, even beyond the top 100, are considering CAT 2023 scores for admissions in 2024. A lot of these colleges are accepting CAT percentiles in the range of 70-80. What's interesting is that these colleges are placing more importance on the overall profile of the candidates, such as their academic background and work experience, rather than just looking at their CAT exam scores."

Here is the list of some of the colleges accepting 75 percentile
  • Indian School of Mines, Dhanbad
  • Amrita School of Business, Coimbatore
  • Jaipuria Institute of Management, Lucknow & Jaipur
  • Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani
  • Kirloskar Institute of Advanced Management Studies, Harihar & Pune
  • Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International School of Textile Management, Coimbatore
  • Indian Institute of Health Management Research, Jaipur

I hope this answers your question

can I clear cat while working?

Sajal Trivedi 16th Dec, 2023

Hello aspirant,

There's no hard-and-fast rule to ace the IIM CAT. It's not a given that the tactic or method that employed by some will be effective for you. Each student preparing for the CAT exam ought to have a well-thought-out plan that incorporates both their strong and weak qualities.

Indeed, it is possible to study for the CAT while working. Form CAT preparation doesn't have to take up your entire day. When a working professional begins preparing for the CAT early on, two hours of study time each day should be sufficient .

can i get admission in iiitm gwalior for mba,i got 50 percentile in cat 2023

Aman Mishra 14th Dec, 2023

Hello,
The IIITM Gwalior is quite good college and has a descent academic remark and also the percentile secured by you in CAT is decent, so you should definitely give a try there is a chance that you can secure admission as per the previous year’s cutoffs but also depending upon on the course you are looking for as you have not mentioned it, so if you looking for any demanding course than in that case competition will also be high, so you should keep more options as well so that you can secure admission in any of the good college.
