Is it possible to get a call from IIM Ahmedabad with 93% in 10th, 95% in 12th, 85% in B.Tech from Tier 3 college without any internships and extra curricular activities and 99%tile in CAT?

Anshu Saini 20th Feb, 2020
Hi aspirant,
IIMs are known to raise their bars of the expected percentile in the examination. The general bracket of the accepted CAT percentile ranges from 95 to a 99.98 percentile so as to get you a PI, that is, a Personal Interview call from the IIM institutes. In regard to this they also consider 12 and 10 class marks and grade them. With your score you have fair chances of getting a call from IIM ahemdabad but you have to clear analytical written test (AWT) and personal interview for admission. Follow this link for more details-

Hi All, I want to apply for IIMs and I have a query regarding EWS certificate. I had applied for EWS but I got it in my regional format (marathi). The college I am applying is not accepting this format. And I am confused of how to apply the format that they want. Does that format has any name ? TIA

Akram Khan 28th Jan, 2020

Hi,

Many institution give the format of the document required in their information brochure or at the official site. So visit the official site of CAT exam. There in the certificate section you will find the format of all the certificate required.

From there download the  EWS certificate. And after proper attestation submit it.

Hope it helps.

Hey, i have 57% in both 10th and 12th and 81% in graduation. Any possibility of getting call from IIMB if i score 99%tile ?

KUNAL LANJEWAR 17th Jan, 2020

Hello,

Yes. You have a chance of getting a call from IIM Bangalore.

The eligibility criteria for getting selected by IIM Bangalore is :

  • Minimum 50% in 10 + 2 + Graduation
  • Required CAT percentile
  • Minimum 4 years work experience in respective field

The candidates who clear the above eligibility criteria are shortlisted and they are further sent for further shortlisting.

The further shortlisting is done on the basis of Personal Interview, Written Ability Test. The candidate clearing all the stages are finally selected for admission in IIM Bangalore.

You can receive a call, but you will face problems during shortlisting, as the percentage of 10th, 12th and graduation play a very important role in shortlisting.

Best Wishes.

The Business analytics program of IIM Bangalore is considered as one of the best. In fact this 2 years program will give you enough insights about business and social challenges and identify patterns, developing business strategies and an in depth study of data science.  The placement opportunities are immense. Considering the fact that analytics is now the most sought after job, many reputed companies like the big 4, Genpact, Capgemini etc. visit the campus.

Yashu Shrivastava 11th Jan, 2020

Hello Vivek

As you mentioned your academics score and it is good but at 99 percentile in CAT,you have a lot more chance to get calls from top IIMs like IIM Ahmedabad,IIM Bangalore,IIM Calcutta,IIM Lucknow and IIM Indore. But there is one drawback that you are fresher and you dont have any previous job background which can be a problem for you. So,yes you will surely get call from top IIMs at 99 percentile because it is very good marks.

Hope This Helps

10th 50percentage and 12th 48 percentage degree 45percentage, and cat 90 Percentage

Yashu Shrivastava 9th Jan, 2020

Hello

Your academics marks is very low,and that may affect on your chances of getting calls from some best colleges.Talking about the IIM Bangalore, sorry but you can't get call from IIM Bangalore because of your academics marks and also your CAT percentile does not meet the sufficient marks. The expected cut off of IIM Bangalore is 98+ percentile with good academics marks and also work experience also matters.

But,don't worry,if you want some good colleges, there are some colleges where academics marks does not matter much, you can check about those colleges here

Got 95% in 10th, 77.5% IN 12th, 7.72 CGPA(till 6th sem) , ****CAT 2019 Percentile : 82.26 ****[ VARC : 88.25 , DILR : 75.76 , QA: 72.56 ] , Category : Engg. Male [ EWS ] , can I expect call from NIT Trichy or IITs for MBA/PGDP for Academic Year 2020-22 ?

priyaankasarkar Student Expert 8th Jan, 2020

With 82.26% you can be shortlisted at NIT Trichy going by the previous years' cut offs. IITs are going to be tough because IIT Madras had a cut off of 85.11% in 2019 and IIT Kharaghpur also had a cut off of 85% in 2019. With 82.26%, you miss these 2 IITs by a narrow margin. But you have pretty fair chances at NIT Trichy. Few other Colleges that you may have a shot at are IRM Anand, NIT Durgapur, NIAEM Hyderabad, IIT Dhanbad, etc. You can also check our Pathfinder to check the list of all the Colleges that you may have a shot at: https://bschool.careers360.com/pathfinder/cat
