Hey Aashutosh! There is different eligibility criteria for different specializations. According to the general eligibility criteria the candidate must hold a bachelor's degree, with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA. In case of the candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC)/ Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Differently Abled (DA) category, this is relaxed to 45%. The candidate may possess an equivalent qualification recognized by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India.

Candidates appearing for the final year bachelor's degree / equivalent qualification examination and those who have completed degree requirement and are awaiting results can also apply. The candidate is required to have obtained at least 50% marks or equivalent (45% in case of candidates belonging to SC/ST/DA category) based on latest available grades/marks.

I scored 74%,87% in 10th and 12th respectively and 67% in B. Sc. How much percentile I need to get call from IIM Bangalore.

Sanchit 1st Aug, 2019

Hey Aspirant!

Your score is not up to the mark, to be very honest. Because your score in 10th, 12th and in graduation matters a lot to get shortlisted in the IIM. But you may apply for CAT af course but to get shortlisted you must have to score above 99.5 percentile or may be 99.8 to get the chances of getting calls. Because there are lots of students who apply for CAT at the same timw you do.

So there will be hard competition with these marks you have scored. Please don't get offended. Try hard, practice a lot to get to the 100 percentile, not any college will regret calling you.

Thank you.

Deepshikha Student Expert 31st Jul, 2019
Hey,
Well, there are about twenty IIMs in India and the eligibility criteria is different for them all.
It is true that your academic performance plays a big role in giving edge to your Application. But,in case,if your academic performance is not good or average(as in your case),then to recover that you need to perform exceptionally well in your CAT. Score above 99 percentile(around 99. 4) to make it to IIM Bangalore or any top B-School. The final admission is after the group Discussions and personal Interview.
Hope this helps you.
Good luck.

Your academic performance is good. But the competition is really tough and there would be so many just like you who must be having the similar  marks. However, you can stand out from the crowd by doing exceptionally well in your CAT. Try to score 99 percentile or  above if you want to make it to IIM Banga. See,there are twenty IIMs and all of them have different eligibility criteria. The final admission will be after group Discussions and personal Interview.
Hope this helps.
Good luck.

Deepshikha Student Expert 31st Jul, 2019
Hey,
Well, there are twenty Indian Institute of Management Colleges in India and they have all different set of eligibility criteria. While your 10th and 12th marks are very important, the way you perform in your graduation is equally important. See,either you have to be exceptionally great in your academics that is,always scoring above 90 percent in your 10th ,12th and graduation or you need to be exceptionally meritorious in extracurricular. Like if you have done any  good internships or have won national level quiz competitions or Debating competitions etcetera. Plus, your CAT score is the biggest game changer. Score above 95 percentile(Read 98 percentile) and you will get call from top IIMs. Then you will be facing GD and Personal Interview.
Hope this helps.
Good luck.

I have 9.4% CGPA in class 10th, 92.20% in class 12th and 77.50% in engineering How much percentile I need to get the call from IIM BLACK.

harshitasharansrivastava Student Expert 30th Jul, 2019
Hello Aspirant,

You have good percentage in class 10th and 12th. But when we come to your graduation percentage, it is not good enough to get a call from IIM BLACK. So you need to perform really good to get a call from one of the above IIMs. To get a call from top b schools your target must be nothing less than 99 percentile. Also you must make sure that you clear your sectional cut off and atleast score a percentile of 85+ in section.

Good Luck

Hansa Gupta 29th Jul, 2019

Hi buddy,

Thanks for your question, if you are from general category you are going to suffer a really hard time because IIM's eligibility criteria requires atleast 50% in 10th and 12th..for applying but don't be disheartened because there are many management colleges which doesn't follow this criteria..

Yes, at the time of appearung in CAT counsellings you have to payoff the counselling fee through online modes.

And, after that if you get alloted any particular college then you have to pay off the final admission fees of the course in that particular college.
