The overall cost for the PGDM in MBA degree in IIMs ranges from INR 25 Lacs to INR 35 Lacs for the two-year course. The course fee for MBA colleges is usually high except for FMS Delhi which charges around INR 20000 for the whole course. IIMs have diverse infrastructure and faculty and thus their fees are very high.
Hello Akhilesh, Obviously you should go for DAIICT college. Because getting an Information and Communication Technology degree from DAIICT is far better than EEE/ME in such NITs. DAIICT is one of the best private colleges. Students scoring around 150+ marks in JEE mains study there and the college is pretty famous around the globe due to its highly competitive coding culture.
Your graduation scores are very low so unless you get a percentile above 98 it will be really difficult to get into IIMs. But if you have a work experience or you have won some national level competitions you can stand a chance even at 90 percentile in CAT.
So your selection now depends only on your CAT percentile and how you perform in the subsequent selection rounds.
All the very best
IIMs shortlist candidates for the interview stage based on their own criteria, which may be independent of each other. The process may include Written Ability Test, Group Discussion, and Personal Interviews. Performance in the CAT examination is an important component in the admission process. IIMs may additionally use other factors such as the previous academic performance of the candidates, relevant work experience, gender and academic diversity and other similar inputs in shortlisting and ranking of candidates at various stages of the admission process. The processes, academic cut-offs and the weights allocated to the evaluation parameters may vary across IIMs. The CAT Sectional weightage for each IIM for ST Category is as follows:
IIM QA DLR VARC OVERALL
Ahmedabd 50 50 50 60
Bangalore 60 60 60 70
Calcutta 55 55 55 65
Indore 45 45 45 50
Lucknow 55 55 55 65
FMS, Delhi needs 95 percentile. IIM Shillong: 92 percentile NITIE Mumbai: 91 percentile IIM Bangalore, IIM Calcutta, IIM Lucknow, IIM Indore, IIM Kozhikode, IIM Tiruchirapalli, MDI Gurgaon, IIM Udaipur, IIM Rohtak, IIM Ranchi, IIM Kashipur, IIM Raipur, IMT Ghaziabad, IMI New Delhi, XIM Bhubaneshwar and New IIMS need 90 percentile. Now if your target is top B-School, your percentile should be between 85-90, so forth and so on. Hii aspirant..
If you are having three years of gap in my academics it is not going to effect your chance of getting admissions at IIM or XLRI.
But instead the work experience you were having while working for these three years is going to act as a boon for you during the selection process in these colleges.
During the selection process of IIMs and XLRI not only your CAT score will be playing the important part but instead your previous academics, your work experience, your interpersonal skill is going to play a very important part.
Thus, instead of worrying you should know that the gap between your academics and your work experience during it is going to work positively for you.
Hope it helps.
Best of luck for your future.
If you have cleared CAT exam and personal interview round and eligible for admission in an IIM then congratulations and one thing you can do about the money problem is opt for loans.
Student loans are a good way to go ahead with this and a student getting admission in an IIM surely has a great future and therefore I don't think a student loan will be a tough call for you
Best of luck
