Indian Institute of Management
Hey Ravi,
Students securing 99 or 99.5 percentile fail to secure a seat in IIM Bangalore. The admission depends upon the past year records, the higher secondary and secondary marks, graduation marks of the candidate and also whether the candidate has relevant skills, has experiences of job, etc. Many students fail the GD and PI rounds resulting in failure of their selection. However students getting a perfect 100 percentile always secure the seats for admission. The competition is always at its top level when it comes to securing a seat in IIM Bangalore and also the other IIMs.
The eligigbility criteria stands something like this for IIM B-
Candidates must have 50% marks or equivalent CGPA in the bachelor's degree.
Candidates appearing for the final year bachleor's degree examination can also apply or or those who have completed bachelor's degree can also apply.
Regards!
hello aspirant,
of course you may apply for jobs in pscus. however the cutoff of gate score diffter year to year,
however pwd candidates has lower cutoff then other categorys. however the rules and norms for disability of candidates is prepared by the respective companys.
so if you prepare well you may get your dream job.
iims has 3% seats reserve for pwd candidate.
so choose as per your choice between gate and cat.
Hello deepak
Many IIMs give addmission with 85 percentile in cat but one must have a very good academic background or category reservation
once you get addmission in any of the IIM then your CAT percentile does't matter that much. You will have same opportunities for job and placement as the other students in that batch
Best of luck

Hi Kishan,
I am an IPM student. I will tell you the advantages of IPM over PGP. Firstly to pursue a masters in management you need a holistic UG course well balanced. You have that in IPM. You can build a better CV in terms of extracurriculars and skills as a part of IPM. IPMers have much more exposure than the PGP students.
Hope this helps.
Please feel free to comment for any more queries.
Hi Tanuj,
It is necessary to have a valid CAT score or a GMAT score to take admission in IIMs.
IIMs call those students who have got marks more than their set cutoff of CAT for GD and PI.
If you do not have the score you will not be able to get the call in any way.
Hope it clears things up,
Good luck!
Hello.
This minimum percentile game is tricky. There are things that you need to keep in mind:1) which IIM are you looking at? - For IIM Ahmedabad your academic qualifications are not very important. A 65+ in each of X, XII and graduation (if grads>70m, then X or XII could be between 60 and 65 as well) will ensure that you clear the minimum academic rating score. Thus, all that matters is that you clear the cut-off (99.65+). Others like IIM B need you to have a decent academic background2) Your academic background - Say you are one of those who has scored 90+ in X and XII and 80+ in graduation, then even a 96-97 percentile might fetch you a call from IIM B, K, I and the likes. If your acads are okayish, then aim for a 98.5+ and you stand a chance to get a call from at least one of the IIMs.
Hope this is helpful.
Good luck.

Hello Tanvi,
IPMATs eligibility criteria is 60% or above in HSC and you are thus eligible to register for the exam. However, IPMAT 2019 was conducted on 10th May 2019. You should then be looking towards IPMAT 2020.
The paper itself has 3 sections. Quantitative Ability (Short Answers), Quantitative Ability(MCQS) and Verbal Ability.
Each section among these will have their own cut off scores. The total expected cut off score for 2019 is 208-228.
After shortlisting, there is a Written Test and a Personal Interview.
Due to the thorough process for admission, if you are able to score very well in the IPMAT exam I believe you do still have a good chance of getting into IPMAT. The 50% in PCM will come up during your Personal Interview and you will have to convince your Interviewers that you are better than what your academics show. A strong IPMAT score much above the cut off will go a long way with that.
