Which is best Chandigarh University or iim indore

Harkamal Singh Bajwa 18th Nov, 2019

It is always hard to make a choice between such institutes as both of them are leading institutes, with excellent outputs and placements. However, I would prefer Chandigarh University over IIM as the overall provisions at Chandigarh University are far more than those of IIMs.

Chandigarh University has an impeccable placement record (also registered in Limca Book of Records), and is youngest university to receive A+ grade accreditation from NAAC in the first evaluation cycle itself. Moreover, the environment at CU is very vibrant and cheerful with curricular and extra curricular activities & events going on round the year.

Furthermore, the provisions at campus, State-of-the-art infrastructure, well equipped laboratories match the international standards of education. Also, CU is partner with more than 250 international universities & institutions making its foreign internship, semester exchange very successful.

Visit University's website cuchd.in (http://www.cuchd.in/) or Chandigarh University's Facebook or Instagram page to learn more.

What are my chances of getting into top IIMs or the new IIMs. I have 97% in Xth, 93% in XIIth and 59% in UG. Is my UG percent a reason for concern? Except A,B what all IIMs do I have a chance at?

Miles Education 21st Nov, 2019

Getting into IIMs has always been competitive however that has been the case for the general PG course which is based on CAT scores and subsequent WAT and PI. However in recent times IIMs have realized that specialization is the need of the hour. This is result of diverse adoption of technology expertise across industries which has led to tech knowledge becoming the primary driver of performance. What this has led the IIMs to do is partner up with academic partners to develop specialized courses specific to industries. For example, the IIM analytics courses  (https://mileseducation.com/analytics/home) by IIM Lucknow are developed together with Wiley innovation council and IIM faculty. Further these courses are customized for business leaders who have the IIM business and data analytics course (https://mileseducation.com/analytics/IIM-Lucknow) while there is another custom Analytics course for finance and accounting professionals (https://mileseducation.com/finance/IIM-Lucknow-Analytics) . Since these courses are exclusively designed for an industry, the enrollments do not see the generic competition based on CAT scores. You can check your eligibility (https://mileseducation.com/analytics/home) and apply for enrollment.

Interestingly these courses give you the IIM Lucknow alumni status as well.

All the best.

what is pi test after IIM indore exam

snehasinha1718 Student Expert 5th Sep, 2019
Hey,

The candidates have to appear for the Aptitude Test and obtain minimum qualifying marks as per the cut off that will be prepared by IIM Indore. Only those candidates who qualify the Aptitude Test will be allowed to appear for Written Ability Test (WAT) and Personal Interview (PI).

Personal Interview The qualifiers of the Aptitude Test will be required to apply for Personal Interview. The PI will be administered by the Admission Committee.

Written Ability Test The Written Ability Test (WAT) will be conducted for only to those candidates who are shortlisted for the Personal Interview (PI). WAT is a 30 minutes duration test in which candidates are required to write an essay on the topic given for WAT. The essay will be examined on the basis of the candidates language ability, coherence, and organization, as well as the ideas and arguments expressed.

Hope this helps.

I m appearing for CBSE improvment exam this year in 2020. I have passed my class 12th in 2019 but was not satisfied with my score.

Ankhi Banerjee 29th Aug, 2019
Hi,
As you said you are not satisfied with your marks, I would suggest that if you had scored atleast 60% marks(for general) and 55%(for SC/ST) in your 12, you can apply for IPM IIM exam. Then during the interview you can mention them that you are giving improvement exam in case they ask you about your marks and all will be fine. In case you have not met the eligibility criteria marks, it would be a gamble for you if your improvement results are not out before the interview. So think wisely before applying.
The eligibility criteria also requires you to be of 20 years for gen and 22 years for SC/ST/PwD categiries respectively.
The application form will be available online. You need to fill up the details and upload the scanned documents and pay an application fee of Rs. 1400 for gen/OBC and Rs. 700 for the rest via net banking/credit/debit card.
