Im a fresher, Which one is better to take IIM Lucknow or doing job in IT company at the package of 8 LPA?

anirudha vats 4th Jul, 2021

Hey,

BLACKI are considered as the old IIMs and hence people die to take admission in them.

If you are a fresher and you have been accepted in  IIM lucknow then I will suggest you to go for it without a doubt.

Doing a 8 lakhs job won't assure you a growth career but clearing your management from a top notch IIM will surely help you with a good package in your job profile.

Go for IIM Lucknow.

All the best.

Thank you.

I have 90.6%in 10th , 96%in 12th and 7.8cgpa in BA political science and I am genreal category male with no work experience. Will getting 99.5+ percentile guarantee my selection in IIM lucknow?

Atif Ali 5th May, 2021

Hello,

Your scores are quite impressive but even if you get 99.5 percentile then also selection in not guaranteed in any of the IIMs. First of all you will have to clear the sectional Cutoff of IIMs. Remember every IIM has a different sectional Cutoff and every IIM weightage pattern is also different. There are three sections in CAT, VARC, LRDI and QA. Basically you will have to score minimum 75-80 Percentile in every section and atleast 95-99 percentile to get a call from Indian institute of Management, Lucknow.

Now, if you successfully cleared sectional Cutoff, there will be three more rounds i.e. WAT, GD (Group Discuss) and PI (Personal Interview) round. Since you are a from a Non Engineering background you will get additional marks.

WHY I DID NOT ELIGIBLE FOR TOP 6 IIMS 69 % IN 10TH 63% IN 12TH 99.72 % IN BSC 99.94 % IN CAT IIM BANGALORE IIM KOZHIKODE IIM AHMEDABAD IIM CALCUTTA IIM LUCKNOW ARE DIE NOT ELIGIBLE WHY ????

Abhishek Roy 28th Jan, 2021

Ideally you should have been eligible or atleast received a Call from 3 of the Top IIMs, BLACKI. Being from Non Engineering Background, and secondly after Securing 99.94 Percentile in CAT, its highly unusual. However, it does happen, and you may have lost points for your average Academic Record as well as Points due to No Work Experience.

However, Do keep hope, as All IIMs have yet not released their Call Lists. Secondly, their are many Excellent Management Institutes other than IIMs like Management Schools of Top IITs like VGSOM, SJSOM, DMS IIT Delhi as well as Top Management Institutes like FMS Delhi, MDI Gurgaon, IMT Ghaziabad, SPJIMR, NITIE and JBIMS Mumbai, and you must participate in the respective application processes.

As we know that IIM A and B are known as the top IIMs of the country and to get into this a good academic record as well as CAT percentile is needed. having 70 % in 10th and 67.8 in 12th and same on as graduation rest , what percentile needed to get into iim lucknow

rajaman9300 Student Expert 28th Aug, 2020

It is bit complicated process as for the initial calling IIM Lucknow gives 60% weightage to CAT score and 20% to Graduation and Class XII. , no class X weightage. Remaining 20% are distributed between Work Experience and Academics Diversity.

For the final Selection 55% to the GD and PI and remaining to the other's.

First try to score 98.5 or above percentile then you can do the Mathematics.

All the best!!
