cat:74.38 , 10/12/btech : 72.2/76.2/72.4 , category:sc , gender : male , 2019 passed out , no work ex. shortlisted to attend pi for iim nagpur , what are my chances to get a final call from iim nagpur? please respond

rajaman9300 Student Expert 9th May, 2020

As IIM Nagpur is a new IIM hence it won't give that much weighatge to GD/PI for the final selection as compare to their Counterpart IIM's such as A, B or C.

A,B and C gives a weighatge of 55 to 65 percent to GD and PI. But if you consider last 2 year trend for IIM Nagpur then it gives GD and PI a weightage of 25 to 30 percent only.

That means chances are pretty high as per the CAT marks.

Hello my cat percentile is 77.84.My academics is 10th 89.09%,12th-72.44% Grad(engineering): 71.2% Category:OBC. Work Experience : 24 Months. Gender: female.I have got a call from IIM Nagpur. Chances of getting selected in IIM Nagpur?

S. Saha Student Expert 2nd Apr, 2020

IIM Nagpur has released the cat cutoff (both sectional and overall) and for OBC category the minimum overall CAT percentile is 76.5. Thus it makes you eligible. On the other hand, your board marks are not so impressive but you have an advantage of having optimal work experience. Going by previous years' data, you have average chances to secure admission in IIM Nagpur.

Hi iam having dyslexia, and government hospital certificate for learning disability, can I get pwd (person with disabilities) quota in iim for mba

Harshita Gupta 18th Jan, 2020
Hey,

IIM has given the criteria for PwD under the " Rights of person with Disabilities Act 2006" and according to it, a person must not have disabilities less than 40% , which means disability should be 40% affective.
The categories of disabilities considered under the Act are as follows:
  • Blindness and low vision.
  • Deaf and hard of hearing.
  • locomotor disability including cerebral palsy, leprosy cured, dwarfism, acid attack victims and muscular dystrophy.
  • autism, intellectual disability, specific learning disability and mental illness.
And few others. So according to the last point mentioned above, you are eligible and might get admission in pwd category if you meet the requirements of scores and cut-off and if you fulfill the criteria.

hope this helps!

sc- female with 40.35 cat 2019 percentile where can i expect the seat through CAT-2019

priyaankasarkar Student Expert 11th Jan, 2020

Even with SC reservation, 40.35 percentile is a less score, Nagavelli. So top Institutions or B-Schools are unfortunately not an option. You haven't provided us your Academic marks and CAT sectional cut offs and so it is difficult to guess your colleges. But we have a CAT predictor which is absolutely free of cost and can be used to check and predict colleges. Please use our pathfinder using the link: https://bschool.careers360.com/pathfinder/cat . We see that you have tagged IIM Nagpur and here are its cut offs:

I have 87 percentile in CAT 2019 (VA/DILR/QA : 94/73/78).. Academics: 10th/12th/ Bcom: 87/85/74.. Category: General.. Commerce background (CS with 4 years Work Ex).. What are the chances for call from IIM Nagpur??

Sampriti Gupta Student Expert 10th Jan, 2020
With your CAT percentile you have less chances of getting any IIMs. You've a decent percentile but the newer IIMs usually require at least 90 percentile and a good academic background. But you can certainly look for good colleges like
  • TAPMI Manipal
  • BIM Trichy
  • GIM Goa
  • Great Lakes Chennai
  • Nirma University
  • FORE School of Management Delhi
  • KJ Somaiya Institute of Management Studies
  • LIBA Chennai and other colleges.

Do the new and baby IIMs provide dual specialization? What is the criteria? Please explain.

Sonali Sahu Student Expert 31st Dec, 2019

Hello,

They provide dual degree program to some selected students. For IIM calcutta:- the process is selection through CAT/GMAT score. Then going through other screening tests. If you qualify then  you will get an admission. The process will be same for all the IIMs but may be the cutoff mark will vary with respect to campus location.

New IIMs are worth joining as said by the students who joined and they had a good experience there and they adventured many new things. Fee structure and hostel facilities are also good.

For more details you can check the dual degree program in IIM webpage. For IIM calcutta :- https://www.iimcal.ac.in/programs/pgp/double-degree-program/double-degree-program

Hope it helps!

IIM Nagpur has released the 2020-22 sectional cut offs. And they have been mentioned here. Now for being shortlisted, CAT scores are a criteria but also the past academic track will be considered. You have crossed the sectional cut offs and now it depends on the Academic record too. But just going by the cut offs, you might get a call.

I am an average student (male) with a score of 81% in 10th, 76% in 12th and 62% in my engineering. With 1 year internship and 1 year industrial experience (core mechanical), is there any chance of getting an IIM call (new or baby IIMs) with a score of around 85-90 percentile in CAT? (category-obc)?

Aditi amrendra Student Expert 23rd Dec, 2019
Hello,

Your past academics are just above average but you have an advantage of internship and job experience but still getting in IIM ABC  will be difficult because apart from good percentile must also need to have a good academics and if you want to get in new or baby IIMs still you need to get a percentile above 95 at least.Competieon is tough these days so you need raise some marks in order to get into a good B School.

Good Luck
