I got 50 in math, 65 in physics and chemistry. My overall percent is 73. If I clear the entrance exam cutoff, can I still get into iisc ?

Khushi Kapoor 3rd Apr, 2019

No, You cannot. The eligibility criteria for IISC (KVPY) is 75 Percent aggregate in Maths and Science for general category. If you have failed the eligibility criteria then you cannot get into the college even if you top the exam. Minimum eligibility criteria must be strictly achieved in order to get into a particular institution/ exam. As you have not specified, I think you are from general category. If you are from any reserved category then please specify. Minimum eligibility for SC/ST/PWD is 65 percent aggregate in Maths and science.

Can I get direct admission in IISc Banglore ? I have 90% marks in PCB stream and also apperared in AIIMS 2018.

priyaankasarkar Student Expert 3rd Apr, 2019
Dear Alok, admissions for IISC  Bangalore will happen based on the merit of JEE Main, JEE Advanced and KVPY. Based on the cut off in JEE Main, JEE Advanced and KVPY, admissions will be conducted.  And there is no means of direct admission. AIIMS has got nothing to do with IISc admissions. So you cannot expect admissions in IISc through your 10+2 marks or on the basis of appearing for AIIMS. Sir how to fill form of iisc banglore they ask for jee main 2019 rank and last date for submit form is 30 april..??

Mayukh Sur 2nd Apr, 2019

Hi! You can predict your rank based on the total minimum of candidates appeared for the exam. Let's say your percentile is "x". Since, around 9 lakh candidates sat for the exam, hence your predicted rank would be around

(100-x)* 900000/100

I would suggest you to either write your percentile or this nearly correct Rank in the application form

Will I get admission in iisc college of bangalore with 90 percentil marks in jee mains of general category

harsh Student Expert 2nd Apr, 2019

Hello Kunal

No you can not get admission in IISC Bangalore with this percentile score .

Your approximately rank will be more than 1 lakhs but you need to be secure rank under 250 for admission ( or even more) and for this you have to secure 99.97 + percentile.

So good luck.

which psu, iit, iisc can i get for rank 443, score 599, marks 53.33(obc category) in gate 2019 chemical engg?

Kamal Kant 1st Apr, 2019
Hey aspirant, congratulations on clearing GATE 2019 exam.
You have managed to get quite a considerable score of 599 out of 1000 in Chemical engineering for OBC category but it is not good enough to get you admission in any of the good IITs or IISc.
If we observe the previous year cutoffs of IITs and IISc then it can be clearly seen that candidate with a score more than 600 out of Thousand in order to get admission.
Hope you will understand.
You can look for previous year cutoffs of various IITs and NITs on the link below:

Good luck.

Which exam should be qualified to get admitted into IISC for bsc research in Physics?

Sujata Tripathi 1st Apr, 2019
In order to get admission into IISc Bangalore, the merit in JEE Main+Advanced or KVPY is taken into account. On the basic of JEE Main+Advanced, the eligibility criteria is a minimum of 60% matks in JEE main and advanced for General category students, 54% for OBC NCL and 30% for SC/ST. The cut offs however are quite high. They go upto 320/360 for General category students, 220+ for OBC and 180+ for SC/ST. For JEE advanced, the general category cut off is 280/504.
On the basis of KVPY, the cut off rank for SA is under 350. For SX stream, the cut off is again 350.
Hope this helped. Good luck.
