Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology, Thiruvananthapuram
Hello,
you have not mentioned your category and branch you are interested in.In 2019 the cut off was follows for each branch category wise
Aerospace
Electronics
Integrated B.Tech+M.tech
You need to secure the rank depending on your category and branch you are interested in.But in 2020 the cut off may increase or decrease depending on number of candidates appeared, difficulty of exam etc.
Hi Anant
Once you are in waiting list, there will be several rounds where the candidates will be given the option to get their names striked off from the list. If a candidate above you leaves the seat, they create place for another candidate. You should wait till the last round, for the possibility of getting a confirmed seat
Dear Aspirant,
Following is the eligibility for the UG courses:-
- Must have completed Class 12 with an aggregate of 75% (65% for SC/ ST/ PD categories) from a recognised board or passed an examination holding equivalent value
- Must have studied Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, a language and a fifth subject, different from the above listed four subjects.
Hope this helps. Thank you.
Can you please help us with your percentile, Category and the Home State? This is important because cut offs depend on these factors.

The last year cut off for IIST Trinunanatpuram in Joint entrance examination (JEE) Advanced for OBC category are
Aerospace: 308
Electronics: 338
Dual Degree: 391
These are the last year cut off and it might increase or decrease this year depending on different factors. There are high chances to get into IIST if you are able to get around rank mentioned above.
It depends on the course and category you belong. Here is the JEE Advanced cut off in 2019 for Aerospace, Electronics and Dual Degree respectively category wise
However, in 2020 the cut off will change depending on number of candidates available, difficulty of exam, number of seats available.
You have not mentioned your category.Assuming that you need belong to general category in 2019 the JEE Advanced opening rank and closing rank for general category for AE were 58.60% and 34.14% respectively. So, yes with 60% or above may give you chances of getting seat in IIST in Aerospace Engineering. But cut off may increase or decrease depending on difficulty of exam, seats available etc.
And JEE Main cut off is yet to be announced.Candidates must qualify in order to appear in JEE Advanced.Scoring 85 percentile or above may give you decent chances of qualifying JEE Main so with 90 percentile or above you may qualify JEE Main.
